Did Trump? There is a very real possibility that this Executive Order will be ruled illegal. Biden has pushed for new laws first, but Republicans refused to work with Democrats on a fair compromise after Trump spoke out against it. Biden has in the past implemented initiatives to stem migration but the courts rejected it.

That's not correct. In 2022 He implemented policy that would have forced immigrants to seek asylum in Mexico first before the US. The courts found that he didn't have the authority. In 2023 he pushed for Congress to reach a compromise to give him the authority to stem immigration. Republicans refused to compromise. This year he pushed Congress further, and they reached a deal but Trump apparently said that he doesn't want Biden to get the win and convinced the GOP to drop it. Now he's trying another EO to stop it without Congress.

Seeking asylum is not the same as drinking and driving. Under U.S. law, individuals have the right to seek asylum regardless of their manner of entry into the country. This means that even if someone enters the United States between official ports of entry, they are still eligible to apply for asylum. Things get even more complicated and inhumane if you consider the fact that there are thousands and thousands of immigrants who have had children born in the United States. I am all for protecting our border and stemming immigration, but we have to do it in a humane and ethical way.
