The parents have been giving interviews about it, but they're lying. I'm a journalist who was there, covered that "protest," and helped the family. (THREAD 🧵) The parents claimed that their vehicle was surrounded by ICE agents so they were scared to move it because they didn't want to be killed like Renee Good. In my newly released footage below, you can see that there are over 2.5 minutes before any ICE agents even shot/threw anything in the direction of protesters near their vehicle. Additionally, the closest that any ICE agent went near their vehicle was at least 15-20 feet away. They were never surrounded at all. The parents could have left at any point during those 2.5 minutes, but chose not to.
