Pennsylvania recycler cancels $300 Million project—CEO directly blames Trump tariffs. Erie will now lose roughly 600 jobs & $125 Million per year in revenue for economy. "Recently announced tariffs on materials and equipment" resulted in "expectations of substantially higher project development costs than anticipated," explained International Recycling Group (IRG) CEO Mitch Hecht. The Trump Administration also froze a previously approved $192 million EPA loan that had been secured to start construction. The new facility would have created approximately 200-300 "high paying, family-sustaining" permanent jobs—plus 330 construction jobs.
