I am rendered speechless, disgusted and deep in sorrow when we speak of the horrific incident of Rape and Murder of resident doctor who was on duty in the hospital premises at R G Kar Med Clg , Bengal There is absolute lawlessness and “jungle raj” at your state Mamata Banerjee , ethically you don’t deserve to continue as CM evn for one more second. We demand 1. CBI enquiry of this matter and highest fasttrack punishment. 2. Compensation of rs 1 Cr to the parents of the victim. 3. VIDEO | Delhi: On the reduction of NEET PG cut-off scores, Dr Rohan Krishnan, Chief Patron of Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), says, “The cut off now has been reduced to 7 percentile, 5 percentile, and 0 percentile. This means that a doctor who has even scored minus 40 marks in MBBS will face no objection or restriction in pursuing a specialist degree in postgraduate studies. This is a very controversial decision taken by the Indian government, and the medical community strongly condemns and opposes it. It is being said that this has been done to fill the seats. I don’t understand why people often soft-target doctors❗❗ In a recent video, popular teacher Khan Sir claimed that doctors prescribe MRI or CT scans based on the type of vehicle a patient arrives in. Statements like these shape public perception negatively. Even when such tests are medically necessary, people begin to assume doctors are trying to loot them and they hesitate to proceed with essential investigations. What these educators don't highlight is the critical role that diagnostic tests like MRI and CT scans play in identifying and treating medical conditions. I say this with no disrespect to Khan Sir,he’s a respected figure but let’s not forget that teaching is a business too these days. His net worth is likely ₹50–100 crore. No one questions the actual success % of his coaching students, because we all know the reality. My humble request is: please don’t generalize or stereotype doctors. We already suffer due to the actions of quacks and instances of malpractice. Such sweeping statements only add to the burden of genuine doctors trying to do their job with integrity. Today, across the country, we are seeing doctors under threat. Doctors have been attacked. There is no protection for doctors, and here we see a BJP minister, who is the Health Minister, walking into an emergency ward of a Goa Medical College. I think such ministers should be immediately sacked... The IMA, the Federation of Indian Medical Association, has already written to the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister, and the Union Health Minister, condemning this act of the minister. They have demanded that an inquiry be set up on this minister. They have also given a deadline of 72 hours. FMGs have experienced considerable hardship post-COVID and war, with the National Medical Commission constantly making new rules. It is important for authorities to recognize that ultimately, we are serving our country. The politician involved is an elected representative from the Shiv Sena who assaulted a female doctor as well as other healthcare workers, nurses, and paramedics. He was accompanied by several goons; the entire incident was caught on camera... Under these circumstances, it is imperative that immediate action be taken against this corporator for his actions. It is the responsibility of the Maharashtra government to ensure that the police do not succumb to any pressure... The FAIMA has written to Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, demanding action against him within 24 hours..." He also says, "Many medical colleges and hospitals are opening in India these days, creating the impression that our medical infrastructure is improving significantly; however, the reality is quite different... There are significant technological shortcomings—deficiencies that have been overlooked... While violence against doctors is generally not a major concern in other countries, it has become a serious issue in India. Incidents of abuse against both male and female doctors occur almost daily..." He further says, "If no satisfactory action is taken within 24 hours, we stand with the doctors of Maharashtra. They have already called for a strike; OPD services there are suspended, and we are fully prepared to stage a nationwide protest in their support—and we will do so."

Dear Doctor fraternity, You have announced various events in the coming week and have urged the common citizens, to protest against the injustice done to the RG Kar PGT Lady Doctor. You have made an appeal to the people to turn off the lights of their house from 9 pm to 10 pm on 4th September in solidarity with the victim. As it can be noticed that all these events have made the Ruling TMC Party very nervous. And in order to stir the pot and evade the public animosity, they too have joined the "We want Justice" movement, albeit with the TMC flags in full display. Listen to the diktat issued by Canning West Trinamool MLA Paresh Das. How he is instructing to obstruct people from joining the RG Kar movement at Canning on the 4th of September. I became a doctor to look after patients, not to walk away from work But right now, I’m watching A&Es overflow, ambulances queue outside hospitals, and patients treated in corridors even on non strike days While doctors who want to work in A&E are competing 14 to 1 for training places, and around 5 to 1 in GP 30,000 doctors applied for 10,000 training jobs this year Thousands of future Consultants and GPs turned away due to Government imposed caps on training jobs Doctors are ready to step in. The system isn’t letting them. On top of that, after years of pay erosion Wes Streeting has recommended a real terms pay cut for doctors for the next financial year These factors in combination makes it harder for doctors to stay, to train, and to build a future in the NHS Wes Streeting’s offer doesn’t change this The headline 4,000 jobs he announced are a cannibalisation of existing locally employed doctor jobs, so the total number of doctors doesn’t increase at all as a result of his offer There’s also nothing on pay, despite assurances we were on a ‘journey’ to pay restoration last year The BMA offered to meet Wes Streeting as soon as the November strikes ended He ignored the BMA for weeks Instead, a last-minute rushed offer arrived from him with less than 24 hours to respond The BMA put it to resident doctors. Nearly 30,000 of them said it wasn’t good enough For me, this is about jobs and pay together You can’t reduce waiting lists without training doctors, and you can’t keep doctors in the NHS while cutting their pay in real terms. Tomorrow, I’ll be standing shoulder to shoulder with Resident Doctors across England on the picket lines; not because we want to strike, but because we need a solution from Wes Streeting that’s actually credible That still remains within the Government’s gift to deliver
