This is an interview a few days after the Brexit referendum in 2016 with a voter in Barnsley. He says he voted to leave to stop immigration. Not to lower it, not to change its composition, not to pause it but to stop it. It’s men like this which is why I’ll fight like hell for a Restore government. Men like this have been betrayed again and again and it’s men like this who make up a lot of Reform’s base. They genuinely believe Farage is going to be the man to stop immigration. They honestly believe under Farage visas will be halted and the foreigners in their community will be made to leave. And the thought of Farage betraying these people yet again is too much to bear. We must give them a Restore government and we have to then radically change the course of the country by deporting millions and millions of people whilst cutting gross migration by 90-95%.

The Coalition parties are little better on this. It’s a bit rich seeing Liberal MPs claiming they stand for controlled migration when their recent record was one of out-of-control mass migration. More and more voters are rightly connecting mass migration with changes in their communities, particularly the direct impact on housing affordability that has been proven by a number of studies. There is one political party in Australia that stands unequivocally for a decisive break from the mass migration of recent years: One Nation. Any other party will simply deliver more of the same.

Australia’s immigration system is broken. It no longer works in the interests of the Australian people. Immigration policy from both parties of government – Labor and the Coalition – does not reflect the views of the Australian people. It’s driven by big business and used to prop up an economy brought low by poor government decisions. Poll after poll after poll shows most Australians think immigration is too high, or should be lowered. A staggering 1.4 million people have been brought to Australia since Labor won power in 2022. That’s more than the entire population of Adelaide, our fifth largest city. There has never been such a massive increase in our population in all our history. Last year I called for a national plebiscite on immigration to determine the views of the Australian people once and for all. Labor, the Coalition and the Greens blocked it. This showed they do not care about the Australian people’s views on immigration. It showed they do not care about the increasing numbers of Australians struggling to find secure accommodation, struggling to afford increasing rents, or trying to survive on the streets. It showed they don’t care about about the inflation caused by high immigration, or its overwhelming impact on services and infrastructure. I care, because I’m an Australian fighting for a decent standard of living for myself, my family and the Australians relying on me to fight for them. One Nation listens to the Australian people on immigration, and we develop our policies accordingly. Late last year the Department of Home Affairs revealed more than 75 thousand visa holders were in Australia illegally. Under our policy, all of them would be deported immediately. Under our policy, they would not be able to appeal their deportation to the Australian Review Tribunal. During the previous two financial years, just over 1.4 million people came to Australia courtesy of the Albanese Labor government – an average of 700 thousand per year. These numbers are obscene. One Nation will cap arrivals at 130 thousand per year – a drop of 570,000 per year from Labor’s record numbers. This will allow Australia to catch its breath, catch up with housing, and catch up with services and infrastructure. One Nation’s policy introduces a minimum eight-year waiting period for immigrants before they can apply for Australian citizenship and the privileges that come with it. Over this eight-year period, immigrants will be required to consistently demonstrate they are fit to become Australians. We want to reinforce the principle that Australian citizenship is a privilege to be earned, not an entitlement to be given away. Foreign students will be included in our 130 thousand per year cap. Australian universities must be broken of their addiction to foreign students, and forced to prioritise the tertiary education of Australian students. With modern communications technology, there is no compelling reason why most of these students can’t do Australian courses at home unless, of course, you factor in the amount of money they send back home from Australia. In 2023 this figure was 10 billion dollars. It’s a scam to take jobs and wealth from Australians, and we’re going to put a stop to it. One Nation’s policy will also stop those on student visas from using the system as a backdoor to permanent residency, and we’ll prevent students from bringing family members here. Our policy also demands the reinstatement of temporary protection visas and Australia’s withdrawal from the UN Refugee Convention. TPVs are a proven means of deterring people smuggling, stopping the boats and those arriving by plane. Labor is keeping things quiet, but it’s well known the people smugglers are constantly testing our borders and more boats have made it to the mainland in recent months. Under our policy, immigration from nations known to foster extremism will be prohibited. The major parties failure to screen out extremists at the border is directly responsible for the unrest and violence we’ve seen on our streets and in our suburbs. One Nation is the only party with a strong immigration policy that reflects the will of the Australian people. That’s because we’re the only party that puts Australia and Australians first.

Labor refuses to act. When confronted in the Senate, Minister Watt had no answers, he didn’t even know the numbers. That says it all. How can a government fix a problem they don’t understand? Instead of cracking down on the visa rorts flooding Australia with cheap labour, Anthony Albanese is wining and dining with international education industry figures. The same industry that has fuelled the explosion of student visas, many of which are being exploited as backdoor work permits and a pathway to permanent residency. Labor is captured by the mass migration industry, more focused on looking after their mates and their donors than protecting Australian workers. One Nation will always put Australians first. Last weeks event in North Africa shows why immigration is one of the biggest failures amongst Western countries over the last one to two decades. While Australia has managed to contain boat arrivals for the time being, when it comes to migrants arriving by plane, immigration is a completely different matter. While there tends to be a focus on border controls there is very little substance when it comes to recognising bureaucratic failures in managing immigration. There are serious systemic failures between relevant government agencies that need to be resolved by improving cooperation and coordination. People First will make the following changes to managing immigration into Australia: • Tax file numbers, sponsors and expiry dates will be linked to visas issued to enable better tracking of migrants amongst government departments • Points based and Skills based visas will be abolished and instead replaced by employers applying for work visas directly. Our view is If there is no sponsoring employer, applicants are not in demand. • Indian migration agreements will be abolished. Given the difference in population size and income distribution the Indian Migration and Mobility agreement is completely asymmetrical and doesn’t serve Australia’s best interests. Keir Starmer is celebrating an 84 percent fall in net migration. But it's a hollow victory. Total migration was 813,000. 77 percent (627,000) were from outside Europe. Half of work visas were given to dependents. More than 88,000 were asylum seekers, including illegal migrants. Net migration only fell to 171,000 because 246,000 British citizens left the country, including thousands of young native Brits. ONS estimates show that at least 19 percent of the UK population was born overseas. Gross immigration between 2021 - 2025 was 5.6 million. 1 in 20 residents in Britain arrived in the last five years. First- or second-generation immigrants now make up a quarter of the population. And record numbers were granted citizenship in 2025. We can't keep doing this. The public don't want to. 41 percent of voters told Ipsos that immigration is the biggest issue in Britain. We can't build three new Birminghams to accommodate these people. We shouldn't have to. This must be reversed.

I can't think of any legitimate reason why anyone would be opposed to deporting illegal immigrants. These people are breaking the law. Such a policy would have broad support, even amongst legal migrants. Furthermore, if a country wants to control its borders to ensure national security and safety for citizens, that is also within the bounds of normal immigration policy considerations. Such policies could include limiting migration to certain fanatical ideological groups that are at odds with Western culture, hardly a controversial position. The obsession with trying to portray Pauline Hanson and One Nation as trying to bring back the 'White Australia Policy' is just a massive psyop by the media and establishment, who have lost complete control of the multiculturalism & 'diversity is strength' slop that is failing in front of our eyes.

This week I addressed the major national news channels with all 4 of my Federal One Nation colleagues for the first time. I am humbled by the increased support for One Nation and I know the work has only just begun to prove we are worthy of your support. At the same time, I am banned from attending Parliament on your behalf on the orders of Liberals, Nationals, Labor and Greens. Australia is in desperate need of political leadership. The country needs politicians who are principled, who believe in putting Australians first, and will stand up for what is right - even when it’s not ‘politically correct’.
