Today I met with President Biden for the first time on our visit to the U.S, and took the opportunity to urge the President to use his influence to bring about an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The genocide of the Palestinian people must end now. I will continue to take every opportunity in the United States when meeting with political leaders to press for an immediate ceasefire, an end to the Israeli blockade on humanitarian aid and end their illegal settlements in the West Bank, and for a sovereign Palestinian state.

I told Andrew Marr of the LBC that the U.K. Foreign Secretary’s announcement in the parliament today was strong in its description of the egregious, extreme, and monstrous policies of this Israeli government but still unclear on how it will end Israel’s genocide in Gaza and colonisation of the West Bank. The UK must suspend all trade, military and intelligence support for Israel. There must be full accountability for war criminals and an immediate recognition of the state of Palestine. Meiselas: We need to really reevaluate and reflect on what the hell is happening with Israel. We have to all acknowledge the genocide taking place in Palestine right now. We have to all work to make sure that it is American policy to stop this genocide. And it should be disqualifying for anybody who doesn't call it a genocide and who doesn't work to end the genocide and who doesn't work for a Palestinian state.
