This is unreal. Post Falls’ mayor dismissed Juneteenth as “something that nobody had heard of until five years ago,” and in a 4-2 vote the City Council removed it as a city holiday while restoring Columbus Day. Juneteenth has been celebrated for generations since 1866. A narrow viewpoint doesn’t change the deep history of Juneteenth celebrations. We never needed permission to honor freedom, and we won't ask for it now.

An Idaho mayor recently argued that Juneteenth is something "nobody had heard of until five years ago" while voting to remove it as a city holiday and restore Columbus Day. So the question isn’t whether the holiday is real history It’s whether we’re willing to acknowledge it. 🤷🏾‍♂️

If Cristopher Columbus Day were removed as a holiday because of his despicable, inhumane acts of oppression of blacks, whites would say, Why do blacks have MLK Day, and whites have none? The purpose of MLK Jr. Day is to commemorate the black struggle for civil rights and justice.

WOW — A member of the Cincinnati City Council is praising the black thugs for beating up white people in the Ohio city, claiming “They begged for that beat down! I am grateful for the whole story.” Victoria Parks has been a member of the Cincinnati City Council since 2022 and has championed initiatives like declaring racism as a public health crisis and establishing Juneteenth as a paid holiday in Hamilton County.

COLUMBUS OHIO OFFICIALS JUST DECLARED OPEN WAR ON ICE Democrat Mayor Andrew Ginther and Police Chief Elaine Bryant openly vowed their city and police will NOT cooperate with ICE. They say they are protecting “everyone who calls Columbus home.” Translation They are shielding criminal illegal aliens They are defying federal law They are choosing illegals over American citizens This is a sanctuary city admission on camera. Lawlessness wrapped in virtue signaling. Ohio deserves better.

Most states where Juneteenth is a permanent holiday added it to their calendars in 2020 or later. Connecticut, Minnesota, Nevada and Tennessee will give state workers the day off for Juneteenth starting this year.

Every day, Donald Trump issues a new threat against an American city — very often his own hometown. But we can stand up to his bullying and win. As Mayor, I'll work every single day with our state and federal partners to protect New York City.

Columbus Day has always meant something different to Italian Americans. This day wasn’t about celebrating a man — it was about giving a silenced community a voice. In a time when Italian immigrants were treated as outsiders and endured unimaginable hardship, this holiday became a way to finally be seen. For generations, this day has stood as a symbol of visibility, pride, and resilience. It’s a reminder of where we came from and how far we’ve come. Day 13 🇮🇹🇺🇸
