🚨#Breaking: Djibouti Offers Ethiopia Full Control of Port in Bid to Counter Somaliland Djibouti's Foreign Minister, Mahmoud Ali Youssef ( Mahmoud Ali youssouf ), has proposed granting Ethiopia 100% control of the port of Tajourah, along with a new corridor leading to the port, as a solution to Ethiopia's lack of sea access. In an interview with the BBC, Youssef stated that the proposal, which includes a newly constructed corridor connecting the port to the Ethiopian border, aims to resolve Ethiopia's longstanding issue of accessing the sea. He indicated that President Ismail Oma Geela will discuss the proposal with leaders from Somalia and Ethiopia during the upcoming China-Africa summit next week. The proposal comes amidst heightened tensions between Somalia and Ethiopia over the recent agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland, which Somalia vehemently opposes. Djibouti, meanwhile, is engaged in an economic war with Somaliland, aiming to hinder its economic growth and international recognition. Youssef believes this proposal could create a win-win situation for all parties involved. However, the proposal is primarily aimed at strengthening Djibouti's economic dominance over Ethiopia, while simultaneously bolstering Somalia's claims to Somaliland and hindering its recognition. The potential impact of this proposal on Somaliland's economic growth and its pursuit of international recognition remains a key concern. In both cases, whether an agreement is reached between Ethiopia and #Somaliland or between #Djibouti and #Ethiopia for access to the sea, Ethiopia may achieve its goals, leaving Somaliland in opposition to both Somalia and Djibouti.

Parents are being warned not to let their children play in Mill Beck in Windermere. Following regular testing undertaken by Windermere Town Council, results have once again demonstrated sewage contamination entering the small beck that runs through Windermere village. For more than a decade, the Environment Agency has known about this sewage pollution. It has even narrowed the source down to a small number of locations along the beck, yet they have still failed to bring the problem to an end. The pollution has been attributed to misconnections, but no action has been taken to ensure the issue is resolved. United Utilities states on its website that, once an issue like this is reported, its operational teams will investigate the problem, write to local residents explaining how they will resolve the pollution and protect the local environment, and trace the source back to the property where the wastewater pipes are misconnected using techniques such as dye tracing and closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveys. If a misconnection is identified, the company says it will provide advice on the corrective work needed to fix the issue. So why haven’t the Environment Agency and United Utilities carried out this work and brought an end to a problem they have known about for more than ten years? Yes, it is ultimately the responsibility of the property owner to rectify a misconnection. But it is the responsibility of the Environment Agency to regulate pollution and of United Utilities to investigate and help identify the source. Neither should be acting as though this pollution is not happening in a river that is home to rare and protected species. This has been a known source of sewage pollution for more than a decade. There is no justification for allowing it to continue unresolved.

ABS CBN COMPOUND TURN OVER TO THE NEXT PROPRIETOR. As ABS CBN that molded our love for Country and commitment to serve the Filipino people through our Arts and Talents, the space within its four walls which used to be our playground, strength and refuge are about to be turned over to the next Proprietors; as Gabby and the Lopezes Brothers Mark and Ernie as the ABS -CBN, the Heads, Carlo Katigbak, Cory Vidanes and Lauren Dyogi, Pioneers and Stalwart’s CONVICTION that ABS will keep its commitment to what we have proven and what we started, It is easy to fight back the tears which suppose to be flowing on our cheeks. Instead it flowed inward down to our hearts as a new inspiration to a new beginning. Yes we will stay. We will always be here, much wider much bigger and stronger. Sabi nga ni Karlo Katigbak, “ABS CBN is in our hearts and Home is where our heart is”… and so it will stay there to keep on inspiring people. ABS is not its Bldg and its Location. We all have our sweet and sentimental memories that will be burried there, but ABS CBN is us, it is already living within its people, its employees and talents and we will continue to keep and share this inspiration to the Filipinos, in this Nation and to the Filipino people around the globe. So we will be here Standing still with our Conviction and Commitment to serve the Filipino People with or without the four walls of our former HOME. Our Hearts and our commitments will be the home of our Dreams and Aspirations and it will always be here. We will stand still, BIGGER STRONGER AND TALLER than our past Towers and Homes. Mabuhay! 🌹

#WATCH | Delhi: On Ireland assuming EU Council Presidency, Ambassador of Ireland to India, Kevin Kelly, says, "July 1 is a big day for Ireland, because we've been preparing for this for quite some time. We haven't been a President for over 10 years now, and it comes around slowly because we've grown as a European Union with 27 member states. Now you only become a president every 13 years, so it's a very important moment for us... It's a very important time for us as the President of the Council. You have six months to make your mark, and it's a very difficult time, as we know in the world... We had Russia's invasion of Ukraine. We don't call it a war between Ukraine and Russia; we call it an illegal aggression by Russia into Ukraine... As the European Union, we've had to respond, and as Ireland, we've had to respond, so that will be a major theme for us over the next six months to make sure that Ukraine has the support that it needs in terms of financial support to maintain its war against the aggressor... We will be using our Presidency to continue to support Ukraine on its journey towards membership of the European Union, and also to continue to sanction as much as we can... More recently, there was the war in West Asia; hopefully, with the peace, the truce that has been agreed between both sides, although we see that it came under pressure over the last weekend, that has put major pressure on us all, as much here in India as it has back in Ireland and in Europe..."
