THE MAN WHO BEAT THE IRS I sat down with Joe Banister — a former IRS Criminal Investigator who once carried a badge and gun. What he discovered while reading the actual tax code and Supreme Court rulings completely changed his life. He found that the federal income tax most Americans pay rests on a surprisingly fragile legal foundation. When he raised his findings with his superiors, they didn’t want to discuss it — they told him to stop reading the law and forced him out. Then the IRS came after him with felony charges. Joe took it all the way to trial… and won. Abolish The IRS!!! - Democrats wanted 87,000 additional IRS agents to target Americans - Trump is downsizing The IRS, with plans to Abolish The IRS

Former IRS Special Agent Joseph Banister explains why he hasn’t paid taxes since 1998—alleging that the IRS has been engaged in fraud for decades and needs to be investigated. “Since I was a link in the chain of putting people in prison over the income tax, I felt that I had to absolutely speak up about it… You would absolutely find computer fraud that the IRS has engaged in on a daily basis for decades.

When i first heard that Income Taxes were voluntary, Trust me i was skeptical too. But after over 30 years of experience, research and battles with the IRS.. I can tell you with 100% confidence that income taxes are voluntary. The IRS is relying on the fact that you will stay afraid of them and ignorant of the truth. Free yourself from the chains of the IRS and stop being a slave to this corrupted system!

FORMER IRS AGENT SPEAKS OUT Joe Banister was a criminal investigator for the IRS, until he discovered the truth about the income tax… there is no law that requires 97% of Americans to file and pay income taxes. Visit On Episode 74 of Going Rogue with Lara Logan, former IRS Special Agent Joseph Banister explains why he began questioning the system from the inside. Banister describes going directly to the IRS as a criminal investigator, asking officials to show him where he was wrong in his interpretation of the law. He says they refused to answer. After leaving the agency, he continued pressing for answers through media and formal requests. He also recounts being indicted in 2004 on charges unrelated to not filing tax returns, despite years of non-filing, which he says raised serious questions. After being acquitted, he claims the IRS pursued civil action and that his FOIA requests revealed irregularities within IRS computer systems tied to notices sent to him. Lara challenges him directly, pressing on the risks, consequences, and what this could mean for everyday Americans. A controversial and thought provoking conversation on law, compliance, and the power of government. HOW HE BEAT THE IRS AT ITS OWN GAME Former IRS Special Agent Joseph R. Banister explains how he fought the agency using its own internal records after it created federal income tax assessments against him. Banister tells Lara Logan that he stopped filing federal income tax returns after concluding through his research that most Americans are not legally required to pay federal income tax. When the IRS pursued him, Banister filed Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests for his personal account transcripts. He says those records revealed that the IRS computer system coded him as having filed a Form 1040A and asked the agency to calculate his tax liability—even though he maintains that he never filed the form or made that request. In this sponsored interview, Banister shares his personal battle with the IRS and explains what he believes every American should understand about how the agency assesses and collects income taxes. This content reflects the guest’s views and personal experience and is provided for informational purposes only. It is not legal or tax advice.
