At this point, I think Russia appears to have used restraint, where they could have used devastation. I also think the West has shown their reliance on propaganda and lies to the point it's hard to believe either side.

I don’t want to sound alarming, but if this war gets out of control, the world is at risk of more destruction than both World Wars combined. Although slim, this is the closest we've been to such a position since the Cold War. Russia is known to bluff, and people like to compare this to the ‘Boy That Cried Wolf’. What those people forget is that eventually, the boy cried wolf and the wolf was actually there, killing the boy. This is a risk the world CANNOT AFFORD.

In his speech to the nation, Putin hit back on comments made that it can’t be ruled out that the West could send troops to Ukraine to help them defend their country from Russia. “Everything that they are coming up with now, with which they threaten the entire world – all this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons, and therefore the destruction of civilization – don’t they understand this, or what? They must ultimately understand that we also have weapons – and they know about it, just as I now said – we also have weapons that can hit targets on their territory.” The argument that we shouldn’t give aid to an ally whom we have an agreement with to provide security to, because Putin has Nuclear weapons and may use them, is a cowardly, weak argument. If the bully is beating up on the weak kid in school, you shouldn’t let his threats toward you prevent you from defending that kid or getting that kid some help, unless you are weak and cowardly yourself.
