A new cosmic eye has opened on the roof of the world. In the Chilean Andes, atop Cerro Chajnantor, the six-meter FYST telescope (pronounced "feast") has been commissioned. The observatory is installed at an altitude of almost 5,600 meters above sea level, higher than Everest Base Camp. Everyone who ascends to the observatory is given an oxygen tank and undergoes a pre-climb medical examination. These sacrifices are no accident. FYST detects submillimeter radiation—wavelengths between infrared light and radio waves. Water vapor in the atmosphere absorbs these waves almost completely, so these signals can only be used in the driest and highest places on the planet. The Atacama Desert is ideal—it's one of the driest places on Earth. Hidden inside is a clever Crossed-Dragone optic: two mirrors are positioned at an angle to each other, without a shared axis. The design eliminates interference and produces a clear image over a wide field. The main instrument is the Prime Cam camera with seven interchangeable detector modules, totaling more than 100,000 superconducting sensors. FYST's sky imaging speed is ten times faster than its predecessors. The project's goals are ambitious. That’s the key difference—and the reason Western refineries have quietly relied on back-channel networks through places like Dubai for years to keep getting it, even under sanctions. Crude oil isn’t all the same. It’s a mix of hydrocarbons with different molecular weights, and that mix determines how easily it can be turned into the fuels refineries actually sell—like gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and heating oil. The main measure here is API gravity. Higher API means lighter crude that’s easier and cheaper to refine, and it produces more of those high-value fuels. Lower API means heavier crude that takes more energy, more processing, and more expensive equipment, while producing more low-value leftovers. Iranian Light crude sits right in a sweet spot, with an API gravity around 33–36 and moderate sulfur levels. It’s light enough to produce a lot of gasoline and middle distillates without high costs, but not so light that it limits what refineries can make. In industry terms, it’s close to an ideal blend. Now look at the alternatives. Venezuela’s Merey crude is much heavier, with very low API gravity and high sulfur. Refining it profitably requires specialized, expensive equipment like cokers and hydrocrackers. Some refineries are built for that—but it’s not interchangeable with Iranian crude. It’s a completely different type of input. On the other end, US West Texas Intermediate is very light and low in sulfur. Sounds perfect in theory, but in practice it’s almost too light. Many refineries—especially in Europe and Asia—are designed for medium-grade crude, so they can’t just switch to WTI. They often have to blend it with heavier oils to make it work. That’s where Iranian crude stands out. It fits right into the middle of the system. It doesn’t need the heavy-duty processing of Venezuelan oil or the blending adjustments required for ultra-light US shale. That balance is why it’s consistently in demand and often priced at a premium. It also explains why countries like India kept buying it despite sanctions, and why those complex trading networks through Dubai existed in the first place. The Strait of Hormuz isn’t just a route for oil—it’s a route for this specific kind of oil that global refineries are optimized to process. If that flow gets disrupted, it’s not just about losing supply. It’s about losing the type of crude the system runs most efficiently on, forcing refineries to adapt with less suitable alternatives. That’s what’s really baked into oil prices like $82—not just how much oil is available, but what kind it is.

Most people remember his 2013 conference talk for the Hyperloop reveal, but the real bombshell was his take on the Alcubierre Drive. Proposed by theoretical physicist Miguel Alcubierre in 1994, the Alcubierre Drive is a speculative metric that allows a spacecraft to achieve apparent faster-than-light travel. Instead of a ship accelerating through space, which is limited by (the speed of light), the drive manipulates space itself. It works by contracting the fabric of space in front of the vessel and expanding it behind. Coffee thoughts - I’m not sure Candace is coming back. “I want to thank Baron for telling me it was time to do this”. “Thank you to everyone that’s been on this journey it’s been a heavy one.” “Today went a lot different than I thought it was going to be” Just for the record the court filing I posted last night was to get more time to respond and to go from 25 pages to 35 pages on why the court case with Harpole should be dismissed for “Failure to state a claim”. She’s trying to get it dismissed before it goes to discovery. Put the paperwork in AI it will give you the specifics. We all knew it was coming. The money it takes to fight these suits is insane. She’d be stupid to not try to get it dismissed. And Tennessee has more laws protecting public figures so it would be easier to get dismissed than in Delaware (that doesn’t) with the Macrons. I still think more happened yesterday. And the way she was acting just gives me this maybe it for a bit. Maybe I’m wrong but I knew yesterday something was up. Her video seemed more directed at making her last claims on everyone than continuing the attack. There was nothing there for an emergency video. She’s heavily pregnant, she’s run out of material, she’s being sued and the cases are coming up, she has 4 kids about to be 5 and you can only attack people so long with the same accusations. The trial is coming up that will disprove the conspiracies. Or maybe she just wanted one last show until she gets back. I still question if maybe another lawsuit dropped. We shall see. Off to vacation myself. Apparently we are going to Spain. (Joking).
