Residents in Swanton, VT are arming themselves with pistols as crossings were up a whopping 240% in 2023. Migrants are reportedly getting to Mexico and instead of crossing at the Southern border, are buying a one way ticket to Canada and then crossing over. Swanton resident Chris Feeley says he has been hunting in the area since he was a teen and rarely ran into anyone. Now he sees illegals frequently. “The border patrol actually told us, ‘You guys might want to put a pistol in your backpack’ because nine out of 10 of them are just here for a better life, but there’s that one guy that’s got a rap sheet,” he said.
