If Members of Congress had to forfeit their pay during government shutdowns, there would be fewer shutdowns or they would end quicker. That’s why I’ve introduced a constitutional amendment that, if ratified, would bar Members of Congress from receiving a paycheck for the duration of a shutdown. It’s time Congress plays by the same rules as everyone else & we get back to work on behalf of the American people.
