FBI raids Eric Swalwell’s home after airport search, while multiple women accuse him of sexual assault. According to new reporting, the FBI confronted Swalwell at the San Francisco airport on Saturday. He was cooperative and was not detained or arrested. The next day, Sunday, agents executed a search warrant at his Washington, D.C. home and seized electronics. The warrant cited a federal statute that makes it a crime for a public official to deprive someone of their constitutional rights. The FBI is not commenting. Swalwell’s attorneys have been contacted. Separately, Swalwell is facing multiple sexual assault allegations from several women. One woman, identified as Ilana, claims Swalwell raped and drugged her at a West Hollywood hotel in 2018. In her own words: “He raped me and he choked me. While he was choking me, I lost consciousness and I thought I died.” Swalwell’s response: “These allegations of sexual assault are flat out false. They did not happen. They have never happened. I will fight them with everything that I have.” Meanwhile, newly declassified documents show that in 2015 and 2016 FBI interviews, Swalwell admitted to having physical relations “on a handful of occasions” with a suspected Chinese spy known as Fang Fang. The last encounter occurred in 2015, while he was already serving in Congress. So to recap: • FBI searching his electronics under a civil rights statute. • Multiple women accusing him of rape and assault. • Confirmed physical relationship with a Chinese intelligence operative while in office. This is not a quiet week for Eric Swalwell.
