RHP/1B Trace Phillips (Middle Tennessee Baseball) is an interesting draft-eligible sophomore on which to keep close tabs. Last spring, he hit .304/.360/.547 with 8 2B, 13 HR and 47 RBIs, but it’s his ability on the mound that's the root of his buzz. Phillips' back of the baseball card numbers last season are modest, but there is more to it than meets the eye. At 6'3" and 185-lbs, Phillips has an athletic, high-waisted frame. In the box, he has a simple setup with an ear-high handset and the bat horizontal above his back shoulder. Phillips has a slight load in which he has a noticeable barrel tip and a small stride. He moves well in the box and has some scissor action with his back leg. Phillips’ pure hit tool is fringey, but he has plus raw power and has shown the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. Max EV last spring of 109.4, if he's able to lift the ball more it will lead to a more impressive power output. Phillips’ current prospect status is largely driven by his ability on the mound. His numbers were unimpressive last season, but he took a step forward this fall. There’s some low hanging fruit to clean up in his delivery, but he has a short, whippy arm stroke and attacks from a low-three quarters slot with plenty of arm speed. Phillips’ FB has been up to 96 with ride through the zone (particular life at the top), though his best pitch is a high-70s-to-low-80s CH. He does a nice job of killing spin on it, and It averaged almost 15 MPH off his fastball this fall. It’s a plus pitch that flashes both fade to the arm side as well late tumble. Phillips completes his arsenal with a mid-80s slider that flashed above-average this fall with sharp, two-plane tilt. Both his changeup and slider profile as legitimate swing-and-miss offerings. Another positive development with Phillips this fall is that his strike-throwing took a step in the right direction. Mid-4th-6th round type this July. (📽️: Middle Tennessee Baseball)

Police baton-charged demonstrators, opened fire, made mass arrests—including women and children—and used tear gas and shelling to disperse the crowd. To sabotage the peaceful sit-in, police fired indiscriminately at protesters, severely injuring several. while another remains in critical condition. This escalation comes alongside ongoing arrests, brutal beatings, and a complete communication blackout. Meanwhile, search operations in Saryab continue, with security forces raiding homes and detaining more protesters. Mobile networks and internet services remain suspended, and the whereabouts of those already arrested are still unknown. The BYC had called for the sit-in to demand the release of its central committee member Bebarg, his brother Hammal, Dr. Ilyas, Baloch woman Saeeda, and several others who have been forcibly disappeared. Instead of addressing these demands, the state has responded with force, repression, and bloodshed. #StopBalochGenocide #EndEnforcedDisappearances

A woman glanced at my dog and said he looked “dangerous.” She even questioned why a German Shepherd like him should be allowed on a plane at all. Let me introduce you to Drake. The same dog she felt uneasy about spent six years working with Marine Special Operations. Drake is a highly trained Multi-Purpose Canine. While most people instinctively move away from danger, his role has always been to run directly toward it. Here’s what he’s done: He has tracked high-value targets during critical missions. He has located hidden explosives before they could harm anyone. He was shot twice while protecting the team he served with. That scar on his shoulder? It came from shrapnel during an IED blast in Helmand Province. Even while injured and bleeding, Drake kept going and identified four more explosive devices nearby, helping keep his team safe. And that slight limp you noticed? It’s from taking multiple rounds during an ambush while shielding his handler. Because of him, a young Marine made it home alive to his child. Drake has been awarded a Navy Commendation Medal and a Purple Heart. He’s also credited with helping save over forty lives. And here’s the part that truly matters — he has never bitten a single person. The only things he’s ever gone after were threats to the people he was trained to protect. So no, I won’t be moving my seat. But if you’d like, you’re more than welcome to thank him for his service. If Drake’s story changed the way you see him… Comment “Drake” below. I’d love to show you what Drake is like now — the calm, loyal side of him, and the way he still quietly watches over everyone around him. | Dogs Are Our World 14M views · 515K reactions | A woman glanced at my dog and said he looked “dangerous.” She even questioned why a German Shepherd like him should be allowed on a plane at all. BREAKING: Kentucky Politicians Want to Know If Mitch McConnell is 'Dead’ Multiple Kentucky politicians demand that Mitch McConnell’s office provide convincing proof that the senator is still alive. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear says he received multiple calls suggesting McConnell may have died while he was hospitalized. Speaking with Katie Couric, Beshear said two separate calls from government agencies raised alarms and he sought reassurance about McConnell's condition. "I got two calls from agencies suggesting that Sen. McConnell had passed away," Beshear said. Kentucky congressman Thomas Massie has also questioned McConnell’s actual state of health. McConnell, 84, has been hospitalized or in a rehabilitation center for over a month. In his July 12 statement, his office reassured Americans the senator was working hard for Kentuckians, but was not yet able to return to the senate floor. “My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I’ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia." The McConnell office also released a photo that was widely scrutinized on social media. Many Americans have demanded more conclusive evidence that he is able to serve, such as a live interview or video statement.

Ex-Shelter Worker Breaks Silence: How Gangs Control Migrant Women and Children in NYC : Exclusive. I just ran into a former employee from a New York City migrant shelter who told me a horror story that allegedly occurred while he was working there. According to him, there was a woman at the shelter with her son who said she was sexually assaulted while crossing the border. She claimed gang members forced her son and the child’s father to watch the assault. Afterward, the gang members allegedly killed the father. The former employee said that once she arrived in New York City, the gang continued to control her. He claimed the traffickers assigned her a new “fake husband” who lived with her inside the migrant hotel to keep watch over her. He said there are always gang members monitoring vulnerable migrants and keeping tabs on what they view as their “investments.” While she was here, the woman was allegedly forced to work as a prostitute on Roosevelt Avenue in Queens. According to the former employee, he begged his boss to fire him because he couldn’t take working in that environment anymore. He said he told his supervisors what was going on, but nothing happened. He admitted the situation pushed him to the brink, saying he felt so overwhelmed that he feared he might hurt one of the gang members. Eventually, he left the job. He told me that as a man, he couldn’t handle the stress of witnessing women and children being exploited and feeling powerless to stop it. On multiple occasions, I have also been told by different sources at migrant shelters that when couples arrive, the men with them are often fake fathers or partners pretending to be family members. As someone who has broken multiple human trafficking stories, I can relate to the feeling of helplessness when trying to help children and migrants who are being taken advantage of. After hearing all these stories and breaking so many of these cases, something inside me changed. By Leeroy Johnson For licensing email [email protected]

A chilling web of deceit that kept a Jamnagar family in the dark for two straight years has finally unravelled, uncovering a cold-blooded murder disguised as an overseas career opportunity. What began as a prolonged missing person investigation has turned into a grim homicide inquiry after Gujarat Police exposed a plot involving an unfaithful spouse, her lover, and a fatal dose of poison. The victim, Jignesh Dharmeshbhai Mavdiya, went missing nearly two years ago. For twenty-four months, his wife, Prithvi Mavdiya, maintained a detailed cover story, assuring anxious relatives that Jignesh had moved to Australia for work. She claimed his new employer enforced a strict workplace policy banning mobile phones, explaining why he was completely unreachable for two years. However, the prolonged mystery began to fracture when Jignesh's brother, Ashok Dharamshibhai Mavdiya, grew increasingly suspicious over the total lack of direct communication. When Ashok insisted on involving the police to locate his brother, the tension forced a dramatic breakthrough in the case. Subsequent police interrogation of Prithvi brought the horrific truth to light. Investigators revealed that Prithvi had been carrying on an illicit relationship with Nilesh Mansukhbhai Kashetiya. Eager to eliminate Jignesh from their lives, the pair devised a plan to murder him. According to preliminary investigative findings, the duo offered Jignesh liquor spiked with deadly sodium cyanide. Once the poison took his life, Prithvi and Nilesh transported his body to a factory premises in the Dared industrial area of Jamnagar. To conceal all evidence, they dug a pit roughly 12 to 15 feet deep and buried the body beneath the ground, setting off the two-year deception. Following revelations during interrogation, law enforcement officers rushed to the site in Dared accompanied by forensic experts. Authorities initiated excavation at the location pointed out by the accused to recover human remains and collect vital scientific evidence. Jamnagar Police are in the process of registering formal charges against both Prithvi Mavdiya and Nilesh Kashetiya under relevant sections for murder and destruction of evidence. The news of a local resident being poisoned and buried under a factory floor while his family was fed lies about an Australian job for two years has sent shockwaves through the region.

Migrants Awarded £500,000 After UK Court Rules Phone Seizure Policy Unlawful More than 70 migrants who crossed the English Channel in small boats have been awarded around £500,000 in compensation after a High Court ruling found the UK government unlawfully seized their mobile phones and personal data. The payouts stem from legal challenges to a Home Office policy introduced in 2020, when immigration officials routinely confiscated phones and SIM cards from people arriving by boat. Judges determined the blanket approach had no lawful basis and breached migrants’ rights under the European Convention on Human Rights, particularly their right to privacy and family life. The controversial policy operated between April and November 2020, during a sharp increase in Channel crossings. Migrants were required to hand over their devices, often along with PIN codes, and officials extracted personal data from the phones. In many cases, the devices were held for extended periods without a clear legal framework or publicly available policy governing the practice. The High Court ruled the measures were unlawful because they were applied as a blanket policy without proper legal authority or safeguards. Judges found that accessing and retaining sensitive personal data in this way violated Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects individuals’ privacy. So far, dozens of migrants have received individual settlements, with total compensation expected to reach about £500,000 once all claims are resolved. The case has wider implications, as more than 1,000 people are believed to have been affected by the phone seizure policy, potentially exposing the government to further claims. The Home Office has since acknowledged the policy was flawed and introduced revised procedures governing when phones can be seized and examined. The ruling underscores the legal limits on state powers and reinforces the requirement for authorities to act within established law when handling personal data, even in the context of immigration enforcement.

INF Gavin Kilen (Tennessee Baseball) will be a key piece within a loaded Tennessee lineup this season. Earned the starting 2B job as a Freshman and contributed, but broke out last spring to the tune of a .330/.361/.591 slash line with 23 2B, 3 3B, 9 HR and 41 RBIs. Kilen is slightly undersized and has an average build at 5'11 and 180-lbs. Some room to fill out and add ~10 pounds or so. Relaxed, slightly crouched stance in the box with a medium high handset. Minimal load in which his hands drift slightly, leg lift leads into a small stride. Short, compact swing and takes a direct path to contact. Above-average hand speed, it's an operation that's tailored towards spraying line drives all over the yard. Kilen is a hit-over-power profile with an aggressive approach in the box. He has plus bat-to-ball skills and his feel for the barrel is evident. Last spring, Kilen worked a 93% IZ contact rate, including 95% against FB. His aggressive approach and somewhat free-swinger mentality does lead to some chase up against FB and secondaries down, but it hasn't been a hindrance to his production. Kilen pounces on pitches in the zone and steps in the box ready to hit. Would give his hit tool a 55. It's more gap power than it is over the fence power for Kilen, but he did tap into some more impact last season. Part of that is due to getting the ball up in the air more: between '23 and '24 he increased his FB+LD% from 44% to 51%. It will always play as slightly below average (fringy), but he did post a Max EV of 108.5 during the spring and 101.4 this summer. Kilen's HR impact and highest quality of contact comes to the pull side. Vast majority of his XBH power comes on pitches in the bottom-half of the zone, which makes sense given his bat path. Has shown the ability to work from gap-to-gap. Kilen was Louisville's every day SS last spring, but he'll slide over to 2B this season for Tennessee. I actually think that's where he profiles best defensively as a professional, where he has an average arm with some range. After seeing him at SS for a couple of summers, his actions and clock translate better at 2B. Kilen is a day 1 type this July with top-55 overall upside.

A 20-year-old beautician and makeup artist died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh after recording a video accusing four people of repeatedly harassing and blackmailing her, saying they had "ruined" her life, while her husband claimed that the harassment involved AI-generated videos that were used to blackmail her. Komal Mishra, who lived with her husband Saurabh Dwivedi in UP's Etawah district, sent the video to him moments before taking the extreme step. In the recording, she named Rubina Khan, Sabina Khan, Abhishek Singh and Ritesh Roy, holding them responsible for her death. "These four people are the reason I am hanging myself... They have ruined my home. If I die, they should be imprisoned for life," Komal said in the video. She also said that the accused had been threatening to reveal details of her life before marriage to her husband and in-laws, leaving her under severe mental stress. As per her husband, the harassment also involved AI-generated videos and photographs that were being used to blackmail her. "My husband is very nice. He loves me a lot... He should not be blamed for my death," Komal said in the video, adding that she alone was taking the decision. Saurabh, who works as a clerk at the Barhpura block office, said he rushed Komal to a hospital after receiving the video, but doctors declared her dead. He told police that Komal worked as a makeup artist, beautician and event organiser and had recently returned from Jaipur. According to him, some of her acquaintances had been harassing and blackmailing her using AI-generated videos and morphed photographs, leaving her under immense mental distress. Komal and Saurabh had married for love around three-and-a-half years ago and are survived by their two young children. Police said they have recovered multiple videos from Komal's mobile phone and are verifying the allegations made in the recording. "The videos recovered from the deceased's mobile phone are being examined and further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the investigation," police said. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and further investigation is underway.
