All the material was escorted by the SAPS under lock and key The three women and the driver were questioned by the SAPS and statements were obtained from them to account for being found in possession of voting material All exhibits were entered into the SAP 13 Register and no arrests were made in the view that the SAPS had about 48 hours to investigate On Sunday 26 -05 -2024 around 01-00 another report of voting material was reported on a funeral pallor in Rd 1 Chesterville The SAPS was also dispatched and sealed boxes of directions were seized , one person was taken in for questioning by the police The IEC material was seized by the police It is concerning that too many reports of election rigging are prevalent this time. It is reported also that the situation was so voletile that it potentially would have led the police to resorting to force multipliers No further reports are known END

HISTORYSHEETER ROWDY ARRESTED; FAMILY ATTACKED POLICEMEN A 26-year-old history-sheeter was arrested during a ganja raid in Pulianthope after police seized narcotic substances from his residence. Police also registered a separate case against his relatives for attacking officers during the operation. A video of the altercation later circulated on social media. Acting on a tip-off about the sale of ganj in the Pulianthope, a team from the Basin Bridge Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector Krishnakumar and other personnel, conducted a raid on a house in Gandhi Nagar Fifth Street on Sunday night. The house belonged to Nandakumar, 26, who is listed as a history-sheeter by the police. During the search, officers seized 29 packets of ganja weighing a total of 10 grams and six syringes from the premises. Police said women present in the house initially objected to the search and attempted to prevent officers from carrying out the raid. After Nandakumar was arrested and police attempted to take him into custody, his mother and other female relatives assaulted the officers. According to police, the officers used force to protect themselves and bring the situation under control. A video showing the confrontation between police personnel and the family members subsequently went viral on social media platforms. Nandakumar was taken to the Basin Bridge Police Station, where a case was registered against him under relevant provisions relating to possession of narcotic substances. He was inquired further. In a related development, Nandakumar’s mother, Meena, went to the police station and demanded her son’s release. Police said she injured her wrist with a razor blade during the protest and argued with officers inside the station premises. She was later sent away after intervention by police personnel. The Basin Bridge police registered a separate case against Nandakumar’s relatives for obstructing and assaulting police personnel during the raid.

Motorcycles Stolen in Ado-Ekiti Recovered in Owo, Ondo state After Owner Tracks Down One of the Bikes. A motorcycle stolen in Ado Ekiti this morning was recovered in Owo, Ondo State, after the owner tracked it using a built-in location device, leading police to arrest some suspects while also recovering four stolen bikes in the process. According to an eyewitness, the bike belonging to a young man in Ado Ekiti was noticed missing around 6:00 a.m. today from a fenced compound in Falegan area of Ado Ekiti. The owner in turn activated the tracker and traced the motorcycle to Benin Garage in Akure. Tracking the signal further, the device pointed to a residence in Shasha area along Owo Road in Akure by 9:00 a.m. Upon getting the exact location of the stolen bike, The owner immediately reported the location to police, who proceeded to the address with him. At the scene, the police officers detained the landlord and the tenant occupying the room where the tracker indicated while a search of the locked room uncovered four motorcycles, including three with Ekiti registration plates and one with an Ondo plate. Two of the Ekiti bikes were identified as TUN-426QB and TUN-901QB. The third Ekiti plate number has not yet been confirmed. During the search, officers also found a locally made soap in the room. The intended use of the item remains unclear as of the time of filing this report. The arrested suspects were immediately taken into custody for further investigation and interrogation. The incident has renewed calls for motorcycle owners in Ekiti to install location trackers, amid a recent rise in reports of bike and vehicle thefts in the state. Residents whose motorcycles were recently stolen have been advised to visit Division A Police Station in Akure to check if their bikes were among those recovered.

The 35-year-old man, who was arrested for raping a seven-year-old girl and inserting iron in her private parts, was booked for attempted murder after he attacked cops with a sickle and tried to escape on Wednesday night. The police fired in self-defense and two bullets hit the accused #Ramsingh's leg in the village of #Jasdan taluka where they had taken him for recovery of the rod. After recovering the rod from his field, the cops reached Ramsingh's house where he suddenly picked up a sickle and launched the attack which left Dharmesh Bavaliya, head constable with the Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Rajkot Rural police, injured. HC Gohil and KM Chavda, both police sub-inspectors, fired from their service revolvers to prevent him from fleeing. Bavaliya suffered injuries in the chest and arm. The police control room was informed and both were first taken to KD. Parvadia Hospital in #Atkot for treatment and later shifted to the civil hospital in #Rajkot city late at night. Rajkot Rural superintendent of police (SP) Vijaysinh Gurjar had told reporters that the accused committed the sexual assault in about 10 minutes. He was familiar with the girl and her family, knowing that they were originally from #Dahod and had come here to work as farm labourers, Gurjar said. Police said the girl cried out during the assault, which agitated the accused, who then inserted the rod in her. Ramsingh is on police remand until December 15 in this rape case. The case of attempted murder was lodged against Ramsingh by PSI Gohil under relevant sections of BNS.

Serious allegations of police brutality in Raidurgam Police Station of Cyberabad Commissionerate,Three Muslim Youths tortured while they were fasting : On 8th March at 12:20 AM near T-Hub opposite Niloufer Cafe, a cop allegedly slapped Mohammed Fazal Ur Rahman Akeef while he along with his freind was standing there, snatched his bike keys and phone, took them to Raidurgam Police Station, asking them to return in the morning to collect their bike. Next morning Fazal Ur Rahman Akeef along with Syed Areeb & Mohammed Sohail went to the Police Station. While waiting for the Inspector, they took photos of their bike & the police station board to inform their family. A cop allegedly ran towards them, snatched the phone and abused them for taking pictures. Soon after, the Inspector of Police Raidurgam arrived and called all three inside his room. After checking their Aadhaar cards, phones, driving licence and bike papers, the Inspector allegedly ordered the cops present to beat them. All three muslim youths were brutally assaulted with hands, tyre chappals and kicked with shoes. Despite repeatedly informing that they were fasting in the holy month of Ramzan, the beating allegedly continued. One youth Syed Areeb had recently undergone head tumor surgery and was suffering from fractured collar bone & hand. Even after showing his surgery stitches and injuries, the assault reportedly continued.
