#WATCH | Kolkata, West Bengal: On the Siliguri International Bus Corridor, West Bengal's Transport Minister Arjun Singh says, "I met Nitin Gadkari four days ago and told him that an international bus depot should be built in Siliguri where we can run our bus services to all four countries. Earlier, when buses from there used to come, they would take passengers from here, but they wouldn't take our buses, so we reached an agreement that it would happen from both sides. This way, it would be interstate and also to other countries. We are currently running 5 buses to Bangladesh; we have resolved the issues that were there, and more buses will run. As our relations with Bangladesh are improving, even more buses will run."

“25% never used bus” “75% don’t usually used bus” So what % uses bus regularly? I.soba Public buses will not solve Male’ traffic congestion. In fact, more buses will make it worse. You know why? Male’ has a volume issue. Vehicle owners will not switch to buses. The people who use buses are those who find taxis too expensive or who have no other options. Those who own vehicles will not switch to buses cause a private vehicle offers convenience and flexibility that buses don’t. Buses in Male’ are a last resort, economical option for the people who use them. They should not be viewed as a traffic congestion solving policy. Increasing the number of buses will only take up more road space in Male’ and will not reduce the number of private vehicles and taxis. The only way to solve the congestion is to limit the number of vehicles.

Dear Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan You promised all London buses will have air conditioning. Summer has just started and London buses are again at dangerous temperatures. I’m a passenger on this bus and it’s 36 degrees in seating area upstairs and well over 40 in driving cabin .... I can hear a passenger saying she is going to pass out due to heat ….. Broken promises again

Horror incident in Auckland last night when an electric bus crashed and caught fire, multiple people have been hospitalised, 16 fire trucks failed to put out the fire with flames reaching 4 metres high. Emergency services are as of this morning STILL trying to put out the fire which has been burning since 9.20pm last night with police saying “it’s an electric bus so it’s prone to reigniting” witnesses said it all seemed so fruitless trying to bring the blaze under control. Auckland Transport have 224 electric buses, all are Chinese-made by CRRC, Yutong, and BYD. The then Mayor Phil Goff introduced the buses as a commitment to Net zero- citing a Roadmap to decarbonize the fleet by 2035. The buses have experienced numerous issues including battery smoke, reduced range, accelerated road wear due to heavier weights, and other reliability problems with hybrid models. Posted a tweet that buses weren’t stopping at the bus bay and were blocking the road instead. Today there’s a person deployed just to make sure every bus pulls into the bay properly. He’s even asking autos parked in the bay to move and making space for buses and passengers. Credit where it’s due, despite all the complaints we have, MTC Chennai actually acted on it.
