I totally agree. The only problem is when a man dressed like a woman is the driver or passenger. Mark my word that will become an issue with this.

Many women avoid rides at night because of safety concerns. If this gives them more comfort, it makes sense

I mean honestly, I don’t see how this should be controversial. We live in a dangerous, evil, broken world, and not every man or woman is of good character or intentions. Safety first.

It’s not about hating men, it’s about peace of mind and reducing that constant state of alert we feel in a stranger's car.

What is the problem with this? If a girl only feels comfortable with a girl passenger/driver, then so be it. Wldn’t you want your customers /drivers to be comfortable?

Yes but it’s extremely difficult to find women Uber drivers so I usually end up with a dude who can’t speak English.

Can I opt out of having a woman uber driver since woman are terrible drivers?

We need a requirement to speak English too. We were all tipsy and got in one and the girl was trying to use a translator and the 3 of us got out

Wouldn't be an issue if we didn't have men from third world countries who stalk women at night, lock them in the car or demand their number. It's nuts.

I don't want to be matched with women. They're toxic and a lot of times cancel at the last second. And there's no recourse to them canceling. I'm trying to get to work. waited 15 minutes and she cancels, now I gotta wait 15 more.

Since I am sure that they classify as women, men who "identify as women" which is exactly what a predator would do I would actually feel less safe.

If more women carried 🔫 then this would not be needed.

Uber is going to lose a lot of money, because the drivers are predominately men. Women drive for uber but not as much. Maybe women should start their own company for ride sharing instead of using uber and Lyft?

Interesting move, but how will it impact overall ride availability?

Does this include drivers that are biologically men but identify as a woman?

Would you use this feature if available in your city on Uber?

Now reverse it and watch the chaos begin. Men not wanting a female driver will be labeled has sexist, misogynist, etc. Women will be complaining that men won't ride with them.

This feels like a step backward, segregating riders and drivers based on gender isn’t the solution and could create more division than safety.
