🚨#BREAKING: Western North Carolina high-school students have been using their carpentry class to build tiny homes for victims of Hurricane Helene, for 15 months. They have now delivered their first home to a 75 year old cancer survivor for Christmas. Absolutely incredible!

I read Marvin O’Lasky’s “The Tragedy of America’s Compassion” in graduate school. Excellent book. Spoiler alert - when the government took over “helping people” things got worse. Philanthropy unleashed by average Americans works.

This should be implemented at every high school in America. Imagine the trade skills the students will have after 4 year’s participants. Amazing! This is a legitimate use of Federal school funds.

Wonderful. I do hope that single story floor plans become available for older folks. A spiral staircase can be prohibitive to many of them.

Too bad Trump’s FEMA hasn’t come through for folks.

What a win-win-win. Those HS students got hands-on practice that will help get a job, they got the pride of being able to drive by for the rest of their lives and say "I helped build that," and that lady got a new home. Every HS should have that program.

Every single highschool in America should be building homes for disaster victims. But instead they are leftist grooming indoctrination centers setting your kids up for a miserable life of failure and loneliness.

The common sense behind this is incredibly uncommon. Aside from the philanthropy of it and the practical way in which it uses taxpayer dollars, the personal growth that comes with the development of skills used in this way will transcend almost anything else they could have done in class. Not one of the kids who worked on this house is ever going to ask the question "When will I need this skill in real life?" Bravo to the teachers, administrators and students who made this happen! BRAVO!

This is why we need to be teaching our youth how to build and create.

I get more angry every post I read and then I see this and i calm down and thank God for people like this

This is amazing work and bravo to these students, but how and why has it come down to high school students taking care of hurricane victims?!

I wish they could fix my Electric hood. We got hit with Helene, then Milton, which hit hard. FEMA turned down my Helene claim and Milton claim disappeared, I reapplied and they disappeared it again. Its not easy to save. I am not sure if I have to move the box now.
