Switch to 𝕏 Chat 一 Fully Encrypted, No Advertising Hooks "We've evolved the what used to be the old Twitter DM stack, which was unencrypted, basically just text to a fully encrypted messaging system that allows you to do audio and video calls, has all the things you'd want from any messaging app, the disappearing messages, screenshot blocks, like there's a whole all the features that you'd want one in an app. In the next few months, we'll be releasing a standalone chat app."

We’re starting to roll out default end-to-end encryption for personal calls and messages on Messenger. This isn’t a routine security update: we rebuilt the app from the ground up, in close consultation with privacy and safety experts. We added some new features too: you can now edit messages, turn off read receipts, send disappearing messages, and more.

Elon Musk to Joe Rogan: “No encrypted messaging app is truly secure — only degrees of insecure.” Then he revealed X is quietly building XChat to become the single least insecure messenger on Earth: • Bitcoin-level peer-to-peer encryption • Zero advertising hooks (he called WhatsApp’s ad system a “massive security vulnerability”) • Full E2EE for texts, files, audio + video calls • Coming both inside X and as a standalone app “in a few months” • Explicitly designed with no way for advertisers — or anyone else — to see inside Direct Musk quote: “If it knows enough to show you ads, someone can use the same hook to read your messages.” Joe also repeated what an ex-government source told him: NSA allegedly spent ~$750,000 just to decrypt Tucker Carlson’s messages before the Putin interview. In other words: even “secure” apps aren’t safe enough for Elon. The moment XChat launches… who’s deleting WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram — all of them?

🚨 𝕏 CHAT UPDATE - ELON JUST MADE YOUR DMS FEEL LIKE YOUR PRIVATE FORTRESS 2 fresh upgrades just rolled out, and honestly? They’re chef’s kiss for anyone who likes privacy without the paranoia: • Block Screenshot - you choose who can (or can’t) screenshot your messages. • Screenshot Notifications - if someone tries anyway, the chat gets a friendly heads-up. No drama, just simple transparency. This is peak Elon UX: useful tools, maximum control, zero fluff. It’s exactly the kind of feature people have been begging other platforms for - and 𝕏 just shipped it first. Again. Creators, group chats, founders, journalists, and anyone handling sensitive convos are about to adopt this like wildfire. Expect a wave of posts calling it “the most overdue privacy update on social media.” 𝕏 keeps leveling up the messaging game - and the best part? It’s doing it without breaking the social vibe. Solchat V2 is now live! We've optimized the fee structure for creating message accounts and adding friends. The major update is the implementation of end-to-end encryption, ensuring that no one can track your messages, as everything is stored on-chain encrypted. Additionally, we have introduced a Solana gradient to our new V2 UI mobile optimized. We'll be incorporating V1 features into this V2 version soon, so stay tuned for our upcoming feature: group chats. $Chat with #Solchat on the #Solana blockchain

ELON: 𝕏 CHAT HAS BITCOIN-LEVEL ENCRYPTION “We just rebuilt the entire 𝕏 messaging stack into what's called 𝕏 Chat. It's using a peer-to-peer-based encryption system similar to Bitcoin. I think it's a very good encryption. We're testing it thoroughly. If you look at something like WhatsApp or really any of the other apps, they've got hooks in there for advertising. WhatsApp knows enough about what you're texting to know what ads to show you. That's a massive security vulnerability. 𝕏 Chat has no hooks for advertising. I'm not saying it's perfect, but our goal with 𝕏 Chat is to replace what used to be the Twitter DM stack with a fully encrypted system where you can text, send files, do audio, video calls. I call it the least insecure of any messaging system. There'll be a dedicated app which will hopefully release in a few months, and it’s also integrated in the 𝕏 system.” Source: Elon Musk on The Joe Rogan Experience Joe Rogan, October 31, 2025

X Calls: X is getting ready to launch X Calls, a full group meeting solution similar to Zoom or Google Meet. You can start an instant call, create one for later sharable via a link or code, or you can schedule one with title, description, invitees, and time. Link Google Calendar and Microsoft Teams so you can see when people are free. When you join one, you get a lobby with camera and mic checks then can jump right in to a experience similar to xchat calls but with awesopme upgrades like reactions, custom backdrops, interactive whiteboard, live chat, and more! ( check my last video below) Seems to be live now in Beta now and you can access it at . Anyone can Join on web, Android, and iOS. Move over Zoom. See ya Google Meet. X Calls is stacking up fast. This is Amazing work by Zach Warunek and team! It also uses a brand new backend built in-house that no longer relies on the old Periscope code that current xchat calls and Spaces uses. ( something that always hindered further development ) I hope this means spaces will get a future upgrade based on this as well! Still not sure if this will be availible to everyone or Verified Orginizations only, I hope we can all use this amazing tool!
