Investigation will clarify the real cause of crash. The ATC & others would know if the take off was normal or something went terribly wrong! The critical point is did this aircraft fail to get lift required for climb up or otherwise? To what elevation did it climb! @DGCAIndia

ATC saves the day again A LATAM flight had to be instructed twice to abort takeoff this Saturday, on a day when Guarulhos Airport (S. Paulo, Brazil) was operating under low visibility. An A320 operating flight LA8019 to Mendoza was cleared for takeoff from runway 10L, but the controller immediately canceled the clearance after two aircraft crossed the runway—an instruction the pilot acknowledged. The front section of the Air India flight that crashed shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad landed on the roof of the resident doctors’ hostel at BJ Medical College. The London-bound flight was carrying 242 people. Among them were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, one Canadian national, and seven Portuguese nationals. Air India’s statement released at 3:19 PM IST on 12 June 2025 reads: “Air India confirms that flight AI171, from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, was involved in an accident today after take-off. The flight, which departed from Ahmedabad at 1338 hrs, was carrying 242 passengers and crew members on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft. In case you missed yet another gem from AIR INDIA — An Air India Express aircraft departing from Oman to Kannur mistook the runway edge lights for the lights on the centre of the runway and started to take-off from the edge of the runway on May 15, damaging multiple runway edge lights. The crew aborted the take-off only after a cockpit alert and a loud bang inside the aircraft. The accident also caused a hydraulic leak and a flat tyre, leaving the aircraft disabled and grounded. Avianca flight AV9418 evacuated after an aborted takeoff from Pereira Matecana International Airport in Colombia. The Airbus A320, with 168 passengers, was flying from Pereira to Bogotá. However, on departure there was a problem with one of the engines that prevented it from taking off. "According to preliminary information, an A320 aircraft that was starting a flight between Pereira and Bogotá had to suspend takeoff on the runway, apparently due to a failure in one of its engines," the Civil Aeronautics department said.

A tense ATC recording is making rounds after a pilot forcefully rejected an assigned runway, warning air traffic control he would declare an emergency if unable to land on his preferred option. In the audio, the pilot states: “We can’t land on two two… if you don’t get us to runway three one right, we’re gonna declare emergency.” When the request wasn’t immediately approved, the crew followed through: “We’re declaring emergency.
