BACKGROUND: Prior to Recorder Justin Heap, the Special Election Board staff would go to places and register voters paid by the County. Often to care centers for Seniors. This practice is against the law. Recorders cannot pay to register voters. Last year, Recorder Justin Heap banned SEBs from registering voters and shifted those responsibilities to Deputy Registrars --a volunteer position. The Board of Supervisors went berserk with very aggressive questioning of him over his shift to follow the law.

A few months ago, a staffer from the Recorders Office who did Deputy Registrar trainings with a focus on activist groups moved to the Maricopa Vote team under Scott Jarrett in a "community outreach" position Is the program the LUCHA worker is talking about related to these changes? Taxpayers deserve transparency.

Obamacare people with same vests were at Metro Parkway Station in Phoenix the other day, at around noon or later (I was waiting for a bus). I don't know who pays them but one of them asked if I'd be interested in Obamacare. I said No. I am a Refugee from South Africa. Then I heard one of them say to the other after he walked away, that maybe they should ask about that. As if I would ever be interested 🙄 Then a few minutes later I heard them vaguely, one said something about 'poor' the other said something like the South African Refugees are rich. 😂
