Jumbo has been battling health issues for a few weeks. He had a big series of tests this morning and it confirmed what I sadly knew in my own gut already. Jumbo has a week or 2 to live at most. Very late stage kidney failure. The finality of It is like a punch to the stomach. I rescued him from the streets 18 months ago. The damage had been done to him from neglect over the years. His health is going down so fast I wanted to take a short walk with him in the sun. I’m hoping it won’t be our last just yet but the steps were not easy. 🥲

He said crime is down and he’s using every tool available to him, except federal, of course. Johnson then says “jails, and incarceration, and law enforcement is a sickness that has not led to safe communities.” With an attitude like that it’s no surprise that Chicago has more m*rders than any other city in the US for 13 years straight.
