Brigade's Environmental clearance for their project within Ramsar site has been cancelled. It must be understood that Brigade's project was well within the Ramsar site. Let us make it clear that Brigade's construction site is not in zone of influence. It is right within the Ramsar site where construction... cannot be allowed as per Wetland Conservation and Management rules 2017 under Environment Act. Brigade played fraud in its application by misrepresenting and concealing key facts. The officials/ politicians of different Departments colluded to provide the EC and CMDA construction approval fraudulently to them. Better sense prevailed and their approval has been cancelled now! President Mahama was seen engaged in a heated discussion with a representative of the Gbawe Traditional Council, who had sold a Ramsar site to a private company. The company is filling the land with sand, which has resulted in flooding in nearby areas such as Gbawe and Blue Lagoon. During the conversation, the President warned the representative that Ramsar sites are not for sale and must be preserved to prevent flooding. He also referenced previous instances where similar lands had been sold for development, only to be demolished later to mitigate flooding risks.

This is an illegal mining site in the northern part of Nigeria. According to the source, the site is owned by the politicians and other elites in the country. Despite the insecurity in the region, the site is said to be well secured. Many illegal activities are happening at the site which includes prostitution, drugs trafficking and so on. In as much as we want this country to succeed, we must retire all the useless politicians in this country.

The road construction on Princess Park Street has been progressing quite well and we grateful for the continued support and patience of the community and road users. The final road layer is in progress and it is anticipated that the surfacing be completed by Friday 12 December 2025. The safety of the road users is the core priority and it is for this reason that the Roads and Transport will implement pre-markings and install temporary stop signs for the entire festive season as the road will be open for traffic soon. As the MMC for Roads and Transport I have visited the site on regular basis since the commencement of construction ,to ensure that the set milestones and commitments to the residents of Tshwane are fulfilled.
