At today's value that is over £350 billion. More than 35 lakh crore rupees. Post-war Britain was completely broke. The war had hollowed out its economy, destroyed its manufacturing base and buried it in debt on multiple fronts simultaneously. There was simply no mechanism through which Britain could repay what it owed India without triggering the collapse of its own economy. So Britain did what any clever debtor does when the invoice is too large to pay. It changed the subject entirely. Independence became the story. Freedom became the narrative. The magnanimous colonial power graciously returning sovereignty to the subcontinent became the history that got written and taught and celebrated. What is paining Nigerians is that nothing to show for these incessant loans, they borrowed it for frivolities. How can a govt crying that there is no money awarded a contract of 15trillion to the company linked to the 1st family? You can't be ruling the country as a personal entity and expect us to keep quiet.

On 15th July 2015 Uhuru and Ruto borrowed 292 Million Euros from Intesa SanPaulo bank in Italy on Buyers Credit Terms for the Itare Dam Project. 292 Million Euros is around 39 billion kenya shillings right now. So far the kenyan government has withdrawn 141.5 million euros from that account. Which is around 19 billion kenya shillings. And this is the situation of Itare Dam Project in Kuresoi North.
