We need to rebuild hard power now, not to enter service on some ever extending future date... Innovative undoubtedly, but unless this can be delivered at scale quickly 🤷‍♂️

At its current length, the runway appears unsuitable for routine fighter jet operations. The upgrade could enhance its capacity and utility for military aviation. Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has released new footage of the KAAN's second prototype (P1) successfully completing powered taxi tests, confirming the aircraft has entered ground testing ahead of its maiden flight. TAI expects P1 to make its first flight within the next couple of months, with both P1 and the third prototype (P2) scheduled to be flying by the end of 2026. Deliveries to the Turkish Air Force remain on track to begin in 2028.
