To be honest, "The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas" is a terrible book that misrepresents its subject matter

I’m aware that a lot of Holocaust scholars have criticised it but I highly doubt that’s the reason why they removed it at this school. She mentioned removing it in the context of decolonising the curriculum and making it less Eurocentric

The way she's dressed says everything to me. She's in baggy clothing to avoid any kind of clothing that is referred to in Islam as "descriptive or transparent", i.e. doesn't show the shape of her legs or other body parts, etc. This is how radical Muslims dress. People like this are almost always in favour of Sharia law, etc.

I wonder whether her support for diversity extends to religious minority groups living in Islamic countries

This isn’t the same thing as Holocaust scholars criticising the book. Their only problem with it is that it’s too “Eurocentric.”

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a very, very bad book tbh. But for a different reason, of course.

Yes I agree that it’s bad because it humanises the Nazis. But she’s mad at it for featuring Jews and discussion of the Holocaust
