It reminds me of the whole notion of the "American dream" etc as America was starting out. The misnomer of it being a "melting pot" even though it was predominantly white Europeans taming the wilds of America. The mass migration of low-skilled, low-IQ and culturally incompatible individuals into the UK is not the same as the building of America. You cannot apply a similar blueprint here, especially not to a nation with over 2000 years of documented history.

The idea that "values" are what makes one British is an idea imported from the US. It doesn't make any sense. My grandparents, and theirs before them were English. But if I don't like tea, the monarchy, and pub lunches, am I a foreigner? Literally no one would argue that.
