BRO WASN’T JOKING… HE WAS PREDICTING THE MCU’S FUTURE. 😭🔥 Back in 2013, Hugh Jackman said he wanted to see Iron Man, the Avengers, Wolverine, the X-Men and Spider-Man all come together. 13 years later… Avengers: Doomsday is making that once-impossible crossover feel REAL. Hugh Jackman really saw the... show more

What gets me is how impossible this would’ve sounded because of all the studio rights at the time. The Avengers were already huge, but Wolverine, the X-Men and Spider-Man all sharing that same space still felt like something we’d never actually see.

Hugh Jackman had never even heard of Wolverine before landing the role. Hugh Jackman says Russell Crowe was originally approached to play Wolverine but recommended Jackman instead. Jackman admitted: > "I'd never heard of X-Men." > "I didn't even know there was an animal called a wolverine." Thinking Wolverine was basically a wolf, he studied wolves before filming and even based his movements on them. When he showed up to rehearsal, director Bryan Singer stopped him. Jackman: "I was thinking wolves..." Singer: "Wolves? You're a wolverine." Jackman: "I said, 'What? No such thing.'" Singer told him to visit the zoo and see one for himself. Despite initially knowing almost nothing about the character, Jackman went on to become the longest-running actor to play Wolverine on screen. Do you think anyone else could have played Wolverine better than Hugh Jackman?

Hugh Jackman once revealed he almost appeared as Wolverine in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002). “In the first Spider-Man — Kevin Feige reminded me of this — we really tried to get me to come on and do something, whether it was a gag or just to walk through the shot or something.” “The problem was, we couldn't find the suit.” “The suit was stuck in some thing.” “And so when they were in New York when I was there, we couldn't get it together.” Despite years of internet rumors, Jackman never said the Wolverine suit was stolen — only that it was unavailable and apparently locked away in storage.

New Footage for 'AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY' The opening of Avengers: Doomsday reportedly begins with a massive Incursion, bringing Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man face-to-face with the X-Men. As the two universes collide, Spider-Man finds himself caught in a fight he never expected, with Wolverine and the X-Men battling to survive the collapsing reality. The sequence is said to be one of the film’s major opening moments, setting up the multiversal chaos that follows. With Spider-Man and the X-Men finally sharing the screen, this could be one of the biggest crossover moments in Doomsday if the footage turns out to be real.

Hugh Jackman was almost fired from Wolverine. Five weeks into filming X-Men, executives pulled him aside and told him he wasn’t delivering what they had seen in his audition. He nearly lost the role until his wife encouraged him to trust his instincts; years later, they divorced.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman role in 'AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY' Tobey Maguire Spiderman defeats Deadpool and Wolverine but Deadpool escapes right before Tobey's Earth getting annihilated. He later reappears in the X-Men Universe, jokes about Sam being Captain America, and fights Reed. Basically he sits on Reed just like he did with cable in Deadpool 2. When Doctor Doom activates the Sentinels he wasn't present saying he’s going to get reinforcements. He doesn't appear again until the final battle in Latveria which is in Earth-828.

Ryan Reynolds says Marvel rejected Deadpool & Wolverine until Hugh Jackman called and wanted back in "The first pitch I had for Marvel five years ago was a Deadpool-Wolverine movie in the Rashomon style. And they said NO" "So then I pitched the most idiotic movie. One was a Sundance movie, no special effects, no conflict" "Then I pitched one where it’s a two-hander with me and the hunter who shot Bambi’s mom. Their answer was, ‘We don’t touch Bambi, Ryan’" "It was like a year and a half of just tap dancing, until Hugh called and said, ‘I want to come back and do this’"

Hugh Jackman says Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson put him on a 6,000-calorie diet to prepare for his role as Wolverine. Rich Eisen : “To play Wolverine, you went on a 6,000-calorie diet, and The Rock gave you the regimen. Is that true?” Hugh Jackman : “True. It’s absolutely true.” “I called him after seeing how ripped he looked.” “He picked up and said, ‘Yo, Wolverine!’” “He walked me through the entire diet and training plan.” “Halfway through the call, someone knocked on his trailer.” “They said, ‘We’re ready for you.’” “He replied, ‘I’m talking to Wolverine! I’ll be out there when I’m done.’” “That was one of the coolest moments ever.” “He also told me to have a proper cheat meal every week.” “I sent him a picture of my burger, fries, and shake.” “He basically told me that wasn’t a real cheat meal.” “Then he sent me a picture of his.” “It was cookies, tequila, and three pizzas.” “He said, ‘That’s a cheat meal.’”

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY — THE TRAILER MARVEL COULD NEVER MAKE 🔥 What if ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ brought together the Avengers, X-Men and Spider-Man from different universes to face Doctor Doom? This fan-made reimagining imagines Victor Von Doom reshaping reality itself, forcing heroes from across the multiverse to unite against him. And with Doom’s connection to Tony Stark adding a personal layer to the conflict, the stakes become even bigger. From unexpected character reunions to a completely different vision of the Multiverse Saga, this concept shows just how insane a crossover like ‘DOOMSDAY’ could become. Would you actually want Marvel to make a trailer like this? FAN-MADE AI CONCEPT — NOT AN OFFICIAL MARVEL STUDIOS TRAILER OR SCENE. #AvengersDoomsday #DoctorDoom #Marvel #MCU #Avengers #XMen #SpiderMan #MarvelStudios

In Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), when Tom Holland’s Peter Parker mentions being part of the Avengers, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man responds, “The Avengers? What is that?” While Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man asks, “Are you in a band?” This exchange suggests that neither Tobey nor Andrew’s Spider-Men had any connection to the Avengers in their respective universes. However, there’s a detail that complicates the ongoing theory that Tobey’s Spider-Man was the only superhero in his universe: Doctor Strange was already mentioned in Spider-Man 2. This suggests that another superhero may have existed there, even if he was never seen. So while Tobey may have had no Avengers to call for help during Avengers: Doomsday, he likely wasn’t necessarily the only hero in his world.

Hugh Jackman should’ve stopped playing Wolverine after Logan. Jackman’s refusal to just retire Wolverine & move on with his career is disappointing & I hope he doesn’t return in Doomsday. I wrote back in 2018 that Jackman deserved consideration for an Oscar after what he did in Logan. In a word? Sublime. Had it not been such a loaded year, Jackman might’ve gotten a nom. Not only that, my love for director James Mangold grew even stronger after this movie. It’s the perfect send off. There’s no better way to say goodbye to a character than this film. This should’ve been the final note.
