BROWDER: What happens if Putin uses nuclear weapon? Does he win the war? No, it will be the end of Putin. Putin will become fully defined war criminal who's committed extra atrocities against civilians, and still hasn’t won the war. What happens the next day if Putin hits Kyiv with a nuclear attack? Do Ukrainians give up? No. Main problem for Russians is that they can’t get across frontline. Will Ukrainian drone operators all be dead? No. Then Chinese are saying, “We can’t give you any more money.” Entire Global South will step away, and so on. He understands that the launch of nuclear weapon is the end of Putin. I mean, that’s probably his logic. He would've already done it if he thought it's going to help him. We’re 4.5 years into this war, he won’t do it.

He says, “I’m upset with NATO,” or “I’m upset with Nazis in Ukraine,” etc. And so we in the West say, “Well, maybe if we give him this or do that, or give him a little more of Ukraine, then he’ll calm down.” But it has nothing to do with what he wants. All he wants is to save his own skin. And to save his own skin, he needs to be in power. And to be in power, he needs this war.
