Brute force Path tracing on RTX 5090. As an experiment this is using Ultra-performance (480p) upscaled to 1440p. No denoiser only DLSS-SR. Doing 120 paths per pixel at 50FPS. Here is the video. Thanks to discord user Perhapsy for doing the testing. This is not even efficient use of...

RTX 5090 can easily do 8 paths at 1440p or 2 paths at 4k. Here is a sample of 4paths at 1440p, with plenty of GPU of spare as a sample

that is incredible. The bounce light around the fireplace especially.

So this is like brute forcing a high amount of paths to overcome the need for a denoiser? Did I get that right? 120 sounds like a lot, what is the "sweet spot"?

Mod is designed to work with 1 path per pixel with a denoiser , this is just a random test only , it’s to see if a 5090 could do it lol we just kept upping the path count and it kept going

Should work at 720p upscaled to 1080p :)

Man I can just imagine the futue where we no longer talk in pixels. But in paths per pixel. Like everyone is running 4k but the flex is... "yo how many paths your GPU does?? Yeah mine can do 520 paths picture is pristine! - pff i don't see the need for more then 100."

Just 120 paths per pixel and picture is this smooth?

There is DLSS -SR , which has temporal accumulation , it’s doing work too, plus sharc and denoised frame is refed

Hello, are you going to add ray reconstruction with PT or the basic nvidia denoiser ?

Фото профиля Dark Souls Lighting Engine
Dark Souls Lighting Engine5 месяцев назад

It’s not a basic NRD denoiser, it’s also working in SH mode which allows to reconstruct lotnof details , it has accurate specular tracking and good diffuse denoise

sorry if its off subject, did you/are you planning to change the hero light if not then why not ? I am not against it personally just want to hear your thoughts, I do not remember you talking about it or maybe you did and I missed it.

It’s user configurable , you can set a intensity or turn it off , totally upto u that one, my videos are with it off, it’s part of mod ui that setting

Very cool mod. About what level of GPU do you think the minimum is for this?

Mid range 2070/3060/3060Ti for resolutions 1080p/1440p with Quality upscaling.

Wow, that's way lower than I thought. I should try it. About time I replayed DS2.
