We live in the solo founder era. That's for sure and building with AI has accelerated. I am building software to use for myself and replace the expensive tools I used to use. And partially thanks to AI we can build faster, but not dramatically faster if you want to build a commercial grade product. Before I was using a live chat and customer support tool that costed around 50-100$ a month. This helped me to interact with the customers of my agency or prospects. But I decided a few months ago to build my own and stop paying for these more expensive solutions. I did and turned into a product for everyone to use. The build was not 1-2 hours of work using AI, but it was a several-month process on and off as I needed it. Finally, it has turned into a commercial grade product. I have built several of these and this is when we will see more and more solutions like these. Let's start bootstrapping before showing MRR figures.

Watching my mom go from social butterfly to battling Alzheimer’s has been heartbreaking these last few years. Not just for me, but for my wife and my entire family. Having a caretaker in the house seven days a week, for 10 hours a day, is a lot. Your house isn't really your house. And don't get me started on the financial burden. So much credit goes to Jade for being the rock she is, to Huey and Veda being the grandkids my mom was hellbent on being present for, and my mom — for battling depression, grief, and this new reality she never asked for. But now and then, a moment happens that shows the true good in people, and this crazy ass world we live in. This is Abigail. She was my grandma and mom’s caretaker in Virginia. She sat front row at my grandma’s funeral consoling my mom and dealing with her own grief. Abigail is family. We still keep in contact. I hope we always will. Last week, she surprised my mom by coming to visit. Abigail did this because she loves my mom, and one of the last things my grandma ever said to her was, “Please take care of my little girl when I'm gone.” Abigail did that and so much more. To all the great caretakers out there, thank you. Meeting angels on Earth is a blessing. To the healthcare industry, I wish I could say the same.

A 21 YEAR OLD COLLEGE STUDENT IS CLOSING $12,000 A WEEK IN WEB DESIGN CONTRACTS FROM HER BEDROOM. SHE HAS NEVER WRITTEN A LINE OF HTML. She does not know how to set up a domain. She does not have a portfolio. Her entire agency is one Google Maps tab and a Claude subscription. She runs a move that the rest of the cold-calling internet hasn't figured out yet. Most agencies spend hours building pitch decks, hunting down leads, and begging for 15-minute discovery calls. They show up to meetings with promises. She shows up with the answer already built. Every morning at 9 AM, she opens Google Maps. She searches "nail salon" or "barbershop." She filters for businesses with a 4.7 rating or higher, hundreds of reviews, but no website listed. There are millions of them. Local businesses that are drowning in foot traffic but completely invisible online. She clicks on one. "Natural Nails & Lashes." She highlights every piece of information on their Google profile — the address, the operating hours, the owner's name, and five of the best customer reviews. She copies it all and drops it into Claude. She adds one line: "Write a prompt for an AI website builder using this data. Make it a professional, aesthetic, luxury website. Include the reviews." Claude spits out a master prompt. She copies it, opens Webild io, and pastes it in. She waits exactly two minutes. The AI builder generates a fully functional, multi-page website. It has a luxury aesthetic. It has the salon's actual address. It has a "Book Online" button. It has a testimonials section featuring real quotes from their actual customers. It looks like a $5,000 custom build from a boutique agency. It took her eight minutes and cost zero dollars. Then, she picks up the phone. She doesn't pitch. She doesn't ask for a meeting. "Hey, I noticed you didn't have a website, so I built you one this morning. Are you near a computer? It takes 30 seconds to look at it." The owner says sure. She shares her screen. The owner is staring at a beautiful, functional website with their own business name on it. They see their own customers' reviews. They see their own address. They don't have to imagine what the agency might build in six weeks. They are looking at the finished product right now. She says: "I can transfer the domain to you and have this live by tomorrow morning. It's $2,000." Done. She closes 5 to 6 of these a week. $10,000 to $12,000 in weekly revenue. The 6th deal last week came because the 5th owner showed the demo to his brother-in-law who owns a landscaping company. Real web developers are complaining on Reddit that the market is dead and clients won't pay for quality anymore. Agencies are spending thousands on ads to get a single lead. She is ignoring all of them. She figured out the one truth of the modern internet: the most expensive part of a service business isn't the service. It's the pitch. When you can build the finished product in 8 minutes for free, you don't need to pitch anymore. You just need to show it to them. The market is pricing web design like it still takes a team of four people six weeks to build. She is pricing it like it takes two minutes. The gap between those two realities is where she is making $12,000 a week. And the businesses she calls have no idea she's just the screen.

Last night, I got a late call from a breast surgeon here in Austin, TX. Her 22-year-old patient— just days away from a mastectomy—found out the plastic surgeon she had been seeing is out-of-network and her insurance doesn’t cover any out-of-network care. So now what? The breast surgeon called me and asked for a favor, knowing I take cases like this on, even if the payments are low…too low to cover the costs for me and my practice…because I think it’s the right thing to do. My team is doing everything we can to get her seen this week and to get her case approved. But here’s the thing: this isn’t a one-off. This is yet another example of how having insurance doesn’t mean you have access to care. These narrow networks are failing patients. This young woman has cancer now. She needs surgery now. And we don’t have the luxury of time to wait for policy change. The sad reality is I can’t afford to keep doing this for patients, even though I want to. We need a better system for patients and for the doctors trying to care for them. I believe we can fix this. But we need the help of the government. Three skills I use every day in Claude Code and Codex to solve my hardest problems: 1️⃣ /agent-watchdog When I have one agent like Codex working on a task and I don't fully trust it's going to do everything right, I'll open up another one like Claude Code and tell it to watchdog the Codex thread. You can copy the Codex deep link into Claude Code and it'll look at the prompt you sent, watch the Codex thread until it's done, then compare the Codex solution to how it was planning to solve it and automatically fix anything that Codex missed. It can also test the work of the other agent end-to-end. Similar to the idea of OpenRouter's new Fusion feature, I've definitely found that two models thinking through a problem and checking each other's work can be wildly more impactful than just one. 2️⃣ /plan-arbiter Similar ideas as /agent-watchdog - but with this one you have both make plans, compare plans, negotiate the differences, and make a final plan to execute. I find Claude Code is better at writing plans, but Codex is faster and cheaper to execute on them. Then I usually have Claude Code watchdog the Codex work and fix anything that was missed. 3️⃣ /read-the-damn-docs One thing that drives me crazy with coding agents is they're so reluctant to look up docs. They'll just guess and guess and guess at the right API surface for things, or the right solution to an integration of two things. Once I explicitly tell it to look up the docs, it says "Oh, I see the answer," and it fixes the problem. So I made the /read-the-damn-docs skill. Add it and your agents will know when and how to do efficient web searches to look up docs for the types of problems you really should look up docs for. this trial is sucha hard watch.. so so sooooo many mixed emotions.. but mostly I am just sad; sad for them all! But after seeing this, I gotta say, my heart absolutely breaks for this woman. She is coming to terms with a horrific reality that she will have to live with for the rest of her life.. the fact that SHE did this, the most heinous of all crimes! But I do not see a monster here.. I see a woman who lost control of a life (and mind) she once had been in the driver seat of.. I see a woman who wanted to be EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE AT ALL TIMES, suffer the harsh reality of the impossibility of doing so. I see a mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a coworker who was so used to being “on top of it all” suddenly lose her grip on her life (and mind) .. I see a woman who became OVERWHELMED, both mentally and physically, with life with IT ALL, who tried like HELL to get back to who she was, to “her normal” .. who unfortunately let the demons win I see a broken woman, and I am just sad for her! #LindsayClancyTrial #MelanieLittle

$I just compared Claude Code vs Codex vs Cursor CLI The task was to build a Next.js app with Tailwind 4 and shadcn components to collect customer feedback and showcase it with a widget. I gave all three the same prompt and let them go for 30 minutes to see what they came up with. Claude Code with Opus 4.1 Even though I told it to set up the app in the existing project folder, it tried to create a directory for it. After I interrupted and told it not to do that, it built a demo form and landing page with no errors. I had to ask it to make the demo interactive so users could submit a testimonial and preview it. The landing page looked like AI and was pretty basic, but it worked and it was done in a fraction of the time of the others. Total tokens used: 33k Codex with GPT-5 At the end of the 30 minutes I just could not get Codex to produce a working app. It got stuck in a loop of not being able to set up Tailwind 4 and despite many, MANY, attempts, I ended up with a "failed to compile" error. Total tokens used: 102k Cursor Agent with GPT-5 This was the slowest agent by far and a couple of times I actually thought it got stuck in a loop and was close to Ctrl+C'ing to cancel it. The TUI is really nice though, especially how it shows diffs and it did eventually build a working app (after one or two slight errors that needed fixing) The demo was interactive and it had a very minimal design that looked bare but also a lot less like an "AI generated" app than the Opus 4.1 design. It also wasn't too chatty and just did what it needed to do! Code quality was on a par with Opus 4.1, but it did use 5.5x as many tokens to get there. Still cheaper than Opus on a direct comparison but not when you factor in a Claude Code Max subscription. Total tokens: 188k I'll be able to do a proper comparison and record some videos when I'm back from holiday but for now, Opus is still the more capable model out of the box and Claude Code is the more complete CLI product. It will be interesting to see how Cursor evolve their CLI though with commands and subagents because I think with GPT-5 they have a real shot at providing competition for Claude Code if they can optimise output to get similar quality with less tokens. did Cloudflare leave the best for last? guess we'll find out tomorrow agent week is almost over and I am still catching up on all the announcements one thing that i wanted to take for a spin was Computer. you shouldn't need a full on VM container to spin up a git repo and read and edit some files. and if you want to test something in a browser, you can now use Kitesurf having this kind of control when building agent harnesses is very cool, from permission management, separating the brain from the hands and performance gains from isolation, im super stoked for where this goes i wanted to see if i can build a Buzz-like environment using Cloudflare primitives, i called it Cuzz. and being able to observe and debug agent activity locally using Sentry helps make sure i can see not just my agent traces, but errors, logs and traces from the rest of my application what was your favourite announcement from Agent Week?

🥚 **Explanation of Chicken Math** 🥚: A warning for future chicken owners (and husbands). I have 9 chickens and 1 rooster. One of my hens hatched 4 more babies on Easter Sunday. Now I have 13 chickens (and a rooster). I should have been good after this, right? Wrong. One of my chickens, “Blue,” was very broody and wanted to hoard eggs so badly. So, I finally decided to give her 3–4 eggs and just see what would happen. I wasn’t even sure if they were fertile. I marked them so we wouldn’t gather them and let her have them. Mind you, they were all laid on the same day. As the weeks passed, she continued to hoard other eggs, many times creating a massive pile for herself and sometimes abandoning the marked eggs altogether for a larger pile. In my head, I thought, “There’s no way those eggs will hatch. She isn’t taking care of them properly.” But behold, on Friday, May 30th, ONE egg hatched. A precious little black baby with white spots was born. The other eggs showed no sign of life. I quickly moved the mom hen to a brooder box with her single baby. I moved her other marked eggs as well but had little faith they would hatch. A day later, none had hatched. Still no sign of life, and she had shoved them into a corner (meaning she was done with them and focusing on her single baby chick). Well, it’s not good for a baby to be alone. Chicks don’t do well without other chicks, so, naturally, I went to my feed store and grabbed two more chicks. They were crested, which means they have Afros. SO CUTE! Now, I have 16 total chickens and 1 rooster. Two days pass. It’s Monday. I forgot to toss the eggs that were abandoned by the mom. I go outside to clean out her brooder box and grab those rotten eggs. But lo! One of the abandoned eggs was hatching! And the baby had clearly been struggling to hatch for a while. The inner lining was very dry. My poor pregnant soul was immediately emotional and had to help this baby live! I assisted with the hatch, knowing that the mom hen would likely reject this baby. Sure enough, the mom rejected her once she was born. I waited for hours to see how the mom hen would react. She wanted nothing to do with her. The baby was small and had signs of dehydration and failure to thrive. But I didn’t want to lose this baby, not if I could do something about it. So, I grabbed her, placed her in a box with a heat lamp, and brought her inside, determined to raise her myself. But HARK! It’s not good for baby chicks to be alone. I called an expert, and the first thing she said was, “You need other babies to be with her; she probably won’t make it by herself.” So, again, I went to my feed store and bought two more crested Afro chicks. Now, I have 19 chickens (and my rooster). And chickens inside my house that I’ll likely still be taking care of even when my own baby is born. This is chicken math. As most of you know, my daughter Taryn moved back in with me after about 15 years with her grandparents. They took great care of her, but she was ready to come home to Mom, and I’m at a place in my life where I can provide the best care and resources for her, but it’s a process filled with lots of hoops and red tape. I took Taryn to the movies the other day and it started out great. We walked there, and she was so excited and happy. Throughout the movie she was holding my hand, giving me hugs, leaning her head on me, and I remember thinking, “wow, I am so happy and grateful. My life is perfect in this moment.” Then disaster struck out of nowhere. We were in the front left row, and a Dad with his little girl were in the right front row. The movie went quiet, and Taryn could hear the little girl chewing her popcorn. Taryn developed severe Misophonia, and it’s gotten progressively worse over the last couple years. The sound of chewing sets off her fight or flight instincts, and although she tries, she has the communication and emotional regulation capabilities of a two year old. I could see her getting visibly agitated, and tried to get her to leave, even offered to take her to Mc. Donald’s if we left, and told her we could come back and finish the movie another time. She said no, that she wanted to stay. She had been looking forward to the movie for weeks, and didn’t want to leave. The movie got quiet again, and out of nowhere she jumped up and ran over to the little girl and her Dad. She tried to attack them, but the dad stopped her and I was right behind her and grabbed her. She tried to go after them again, and I grabbed her and pulled her down to the floor. I was mortified, and the fact that we were in the front row in a theater full of people made it even worse. I apologized, helped Taryn up, and started pushing her up the aisle, toward the door. All the while, she’s screaming at the top of her lungs. When I walked out, the employee behind the counter gave me a sympathetic look and whispered “it’s ok.” Of course, we had walked… Taryn screamed the whole way home. When we got home, she lost her tablet and printing privileges, leading to her punching me and then hitting herself and biting herself repeatedly, and screaming for hours but the consequences stuck. I was overwhelmed, embarrassed, and generally overstimulated, but I kept calm and stayed even throughout the entire process, somehow. The next day, I woke up to someone sending me a screenshot from a post the father made. I instantly started crying. I am so grateful to live in a community with such amazing and understanding people. All of the comments passed the vibe check. I’m also so grateful they were so understanding and am happy to report that the little girl was unfazed. Taryn had a mental health assessment last week, and meets with a licensed clinician on Monday and a case manager the following week. The clinician will be able to help make a plan to get Taryn the best care she needs, and the Case Manager will help us put it into action. This is a hard transition for all of us, but I’m so grateful to have her home and to be able to get her the help and services she needs. She isn’t a bad kid. She’s actually really funny, really smart, and super talented. She just struggles with a lot of things we take for granted. When I walked out, the employee behind the counter gave me a sympathetic look and whispered “it’s ok.” Of course, we had walked… Taryn screamed the whole way home. When we got home, she lost her tablet and printing privileges, leading to her punching me and then hitting herself and biting herself repeatedly, and screaming for hours but the consequences stuck. I was overwhelmed, embarrassed, and generally overstimulated, but I kept calm and stayed even throughout the entire process, somehow. The next day, I woke up to someone sending me a screenshot from a post the father made. I instantly started crying. I am so grateful to live in a community with such amazing and understanding people. All of the comments passed the vibe check. I’m also so grateful they were so understanding and am happy to report that the little girl was unfazed. Taryn had a mental health assessment last week, and meets with a licensed clinician on Monday and a case manager the following week. The clinician will be able to help make a plan to get Taryn the best care she needs, and the Case Manager will help us put it into action. This is a hard transition for all of us, but I’m so grateful to have her home and to be able to get her the help and services she needs. She isn’t a bad kid. She’s actually really funny, really smart, and super talented. She just struggles with a lot of things we take for granted.
