🕹️ Building Games People Actually Want to Play This Genfinity conversation brought together founders from pump.games, Cyberlete, and Astro Explorer | Bork Borks & Zerkers. Different products and networks (Algorand, Constellation, Hedera), but similar constraints. Each team is working around the same reality: most gamers do not care about... digital assets. They care whether a game is fun, fair, familiar, and easy to engage with. Pump Games is testing a single match-style game to determine whether chain-based team competition works at all before expanding. The focus is on iteration and community participation, not building a large catalog upfront. Recent competitions between the XRP and HBAR communities are part of that testing. Cyberlete is leveraging Constellation (DAG) technology. They are addressing cheating in competitive gaming by verifying tournament data and rewarding gamers who help verify. The value is fairness and integrity, not new game mechanics. Astro Explorer has stayed intentionally agile, adding games slowly and keeping incentives modest so the platform remains usable and sustainable. Think retro arcade-style competition in a familiar environment. Astro is built on the ALGO network. There was no assumption that mainstream adoption is imminent. Web apps were favored over app stores for flexibility. Wallet friction was acknowledged as a real barrier. Most progress is coming from testing, reducing friction, and keeping the game playable first. Next-gen gaming will only happen by solving adoption problems now. These are the builders on the front lines of adoption. Hosted by Tateshow more

Draymond Green on Steve Kerr comments about the NBA should do a 72 game schedule: “There is a lot of games and things are different, I know everybody look at like, oh man they used to play 82 games all those years ago. Like, they used to walk the ball up the floor, the pace difference the game is played at now and the pace played in the 90’s is like drastically different. The fastest pace team in the 90’s would probably be the slowest pace team today. Like it’s drastically different. So, the game has changed and I think the amount of games. Like, you’re putting all these things to protect the amount of games played by stars, 65 game rule all these things. And the reality is, it’s just too many games.” (Via The Draymond Green Show)

The AI gaming question I am most interested in is not whether AI can make better assets. It is whether video models can eventually become part of interactive worlds. PixVerse is exploring that question through PixVerse Game, combining real-time generative video, AI Agents, game mechanics, and user-defined worlds in an early technical experiment. My starting point for that question is here: I do not think AI gaming is solved, and this is not a finished platform. But if video models become more controllable and responsive, what role could they play inside future games? If the question interests you enough to test the idea yourself, share your take below. A few invitation codes are available, with priority going to the first thoughtful replies.

At the end of the day, as I discussed with Jordan Peterson, there are just two games to be played, one real, one Woke. The real game is called civilization. The false game is called power. A long post/🧵: The real divide between Woke and not Woke is in power. The Woke game is the power game, and it is a parasite on the real game, which is civilization. Here's roughly how Jordan described the foundation of this idea. There are various rules, norms, etc., in the game society ultimately plays, and these create a hierarchy that is based upon competence, mostly organically, obviously imperfectly. If the rules of the game are good enough, the imperfections (natural corruptions) are minor and society thrives. If they are not, you'll have problems. This is the real game of building society, and it ultimately has to favor competence. This game must be called "civilization" because that's not just its goal but it is also what it does. It civilizes us beyond our base instincts and impulses so we can work together productively in a healthy manner that generates prosperity. As Jordan put it, this game is also a reservoir of value, and reservoirs of value create parasites. What are these civilizational parasites? They’re parallel games organized by and around malignant psychopathological modes like Dark Tetrad traits, psychopathy, and Cluster-B disorders: histrionic, borderline, antisocial, and narcissistic. These malignant pathologies render people incompetent except at manipulation, so they cannot rise far in a healthy civilizational hierarchy. What do they do, then, to gain power and status in life in a game they cannot actually play? They define a parasitic parallel game and rope people into playing it. It is parasitic in that it draws off the real game (civilization) and mimics its form so that the hosts (people in society) are less likely to realize it’s there, but it doesn’t build or create of its own. It siphons and tears down. What drives this game is failing to see what makes the civilizational game and the hierarchy it produces legitimate in the first place. This is characteristic of the psychopathologies at its heart. The narcissist imagines the world should be serving himself at the top, but it isn’t. The problem can’t be himself, so it must be that the game is illegitimate. Otherwise, he’d be at the top, but he isn’t. Therefore, the game is corrupt. His histrionic nature makes him a victim of the real game, preying upon emotions like empathy and righteous indignation to recruit followers. Because of his Dark Tetrad alignment, his game is not only illegitimate but toxic. It’s inherently sadistic, cruel to its recruits in the way typical of all cults—alternating punishment and leniency or even love-bombing. It’s dishonest. It’s psychologically broken from reality. It’s also a Machiavellian game, which means it has no interest in moral or ethical behavior but only in power. Thus, this rival game to the game of civilization is the game of power. The parasitic game—that is, the power game—is based on a fundamental failure to understand the legitimacy of the civilizational game or the approximately legitimate hierarchy it produces. This is a result of its narcissism, mostly. The game cannot be legitimate because the psychopath isn’t on top of it, where he sees himself constantly as a projection from his frail ego. It sees power in the real hierarchy, though, which it can perceive and understand, and for which it blames most of its troubles. What this means is that the (Woke) power game develops a critical theory of the existing legitimate civilization game. That’s why Woke means “using critical theory (and activism).” A critical theory exists not to articulate a vision—at least not beyond a Utopia after the cult power game holds power to enforce its power game long enough—but to “criticize those aspects of the existing society we wish to change,” as Max Horkheimer, creator of the Critical Theory, put it. The critical theory of the power game exists to recruit by delegitimizing the civilization game in the minds of some of its players, usually ones who aren’t succeeding as well. It picks at “contradictions,” failures, and imperfections while casting the whole civilization game as corrupt and unjust. It offers itself as the only alternative to civilization game while pulling at the threads of the civilization game that allow people to believe in it. It all proceeds from the Woke failure to understand the legitimacy of the hierarchy of the civilization game as it proceeds from its set of rules. Misunderstanding legitimacy leads it to conclude that all hierarchies are actually based in power, and all power is fundamentally arbitrary. That is, they do not believe all power is illegitimate. They believe power is the only legitimate thing in any hierarchy, but they also believe that power is located in persons like themselves through their narcissism and projection. Think of Voldemort as an icon of this mode of thinking: “there is no good or evil, only power and those too weak to seek it.” Of course, that quintessential Dark Tetrad perspective is what ensures the psychopathological power game will be rigged to make sure the psychopaths are attracted to it and rise to its top. This belief is what we call Woke. The Woke game is the power game, and it is a parasitic competitor to the civilization game. There is no overlap between these two games. To adopt the power game is to abandon the civilization game entirely and, in fact, to become its enemy. But James, you might ask, isn’t there power in civilization? Yes, there is, and necessarily, but it isn’t what defines the civilization game. It’s a byproduct of the game, not the game itself. The civilization game is fundamentally the building out of an organic and dynamic hierarchy based on a set of rules, or what some people call “muh principles,” that will succeed or fail for that civilization in direct proportion to three things. 1) How aligned with the truth are the rules of the civilization game? 2) How aligned with justice are the rules of the civilization game? 3) How willing are the participants of the civilization game to defend their principles and their game, including against socio-parasitical perversion? The more aligned with truth and justice a civilization game is, the more successful it will be, and the more legitimate its hierarchy. The power that results as a byproduct is extremely legitimate in a highly aligned civilization where people haven’t forgotten their charge to defend the game itself, which is what we call responsibility. A civilization game strongly aligned with truth and justice filled with a preponderance of responsible people will produce a thriving, prosperous society. It only works this way every time. Not everyone is responsible, though. Some are also incompetent because of various pathologies (not talking about for other reasons). Those pathological players may, under certain circumstances, create a parasitic side game with themselves on top through a variety of strategies that mimic the values and principles of the real game while distorting them into power plays because their game is power, as discussed above. They will recruit into that game primarily from those who are resentful of the real game for any variety of reasons, and getting recruited into the power game from the civilization game is called “going Woke.”

$Players play. Investors invest. Everybody wins. That's the sweet deal Plots.Finance 🎮 has to offer 🍬 Plots Finance is a visionary Game Item Financing (GiFi) platform that comes into play to connect and offer the best deal for every character in GameFi: gamers investors and NFT owners. Web3 games bring a new dimension to the gaming industry, real asset ownership. This brings a new participants to the market, namely investors and speculators. Investors often acquire game NFTs solely for profit, either by farming or waiting for the value to increase, without much regard for their utility. Conversely, gamers are mainly interested in utility offered by playing the actual game, but sometimes lack the necessary funds for the initial investment because investors bid the prices to astronomical levels. And that's exactly why the web3 gaming industry needs the critical infrastructure provided by Plots Finance. The platform provides gamers with access to free in-game assets. Additionally, it offers the opportunity to purchase a fraction of an in-game asset. The project has 2 tokens: ▪️ $VLND is minted by providing liquidity in ETH to the platform. It's a yielding proof-of-ownership token, and represents the portfolio of digital assets managed by the platform. ▪️ $PLOTS, whose holders can be involved in the project in multiple ways: make DAO governance proposals, get revenue from platform fees, or pay less fees in the case of gamers, just to name a few. Plots Finance will initially focus its portfolio on pixel farmlands, and plans on widening it very soon to other gaming assets from some of the best games on the market. The IDO of $PLOTS is coming to Seedify soon, and whether you're an investor or a gamer (or both!), one thing is for sure — there will be something to win.$

the one thing i am most impressed about agents is how they can run the full production like if they were a big team they start the script and i see how they are surgically working on each part and validate at each stage... there is a researcher, there is a guy that iterates on the hook until it is perfect, it gives scores for each part, and won't jump into the next part until approved then it gets passed to another agent who takes care of the storyboard... this guy then sends it to another guy who create the visuals, another one who is an expert cinematographer, and so on... all this happening in front of my eyes, a team working together with minimal human input, and the only part i have to take care of, is the part i enjoy the most which is the visuals

Ever since I bought an arcade cabinet, I’ve become really interested in arcade games. Similar to console games, you can buy arcade game PCBs and run them by connecting them directly. Capcom games are a bit unique in that they use a six-button layout, so they require a separate connector, but aside from that, the setup is surprisingly simple. You can also play these games through emulators, but the feeling of enjoying them on real hardware is something else entirely. Super Street Fighter II was the first game for Capcom’s arcade system, CPS2, and compared to CPS1, both the graphics and sound were significantly improved.

.David Deutsch on why the people in favor of regulating AI are wrong: “They look at problems and they think they’re insoluble because they haven’t been solved, and therefore they want to prevent the progress that is going to cause the problems. Now, generically, what that will do is it will make the progress happen in the wrong place. It will happen among people who do not obey the regulation, and those people are people who are alienated from the best culture, and they will then become a danger to the best culture. Now, I’m speaking in general terms about progress—progress in computing and so on—but I think this particular thing you’ve mentioned is actually not going to be that much of a danger. AGI (artificial general intelligence) will present a whole load of new problems which will have to be solved, no doubt with the help of AGI. But AI, the kind of thing we have now with ChatGPT and that kind of thing, which is amazingly and increasingly useful and is going to have unpredictable effects on society—most of them good—isn’t anything profound. It’s no different from having a calculator or a slide rule.”

I still can't believe we are building this quality game that runs on my Mac. Day 18 of building my own GTA 6 with a loop of AI agents. Today's progress: - the shadows and car reflections look real now, not like a cheap game anymore. - spent over a day on performance, so it runs smooth. By the way this is a Mac, not a gaming PC, so a lot of the rendering and lighting is not gonna be the same as the NVIDIA GPU. We are almost there. right now i'm debugging the driving so it feels smooth. quick question, what do you all want to see in the demo?

🌅 Designing Systems for Trust in the Digital Economy: A Hedera Builder Showcase We just went live with Impart Global and Mingo, and the conversation stayed focused on two things that are usually ignored: trust and usability. Impart Global is building a non-custodial token launch platform on Hedera. They were careful with their language, and for good reason. They are not claiming to eliminate bad behavior entirely. What they are doing is designing systems that make common failure modes harder to exploit. They kept returning to the same three issues that have damaged token launches for years: founders pulling liquidity, early participants gaining unfair entry and exiting immediately, and coordinated behavior that turns launches into short-lived trading games instead of long-term projects. Tyler, the lead developer, made an important point. If a company actually wants to issue a token tied to a real product or business, it cannot do that on infrastructure designed for disorder. He noted that Hedera’s fair ordering directly affects how markets behave. MINGO approached the problem from a different angle: everyday users. They demonstrated a ticketing platform that works the way people already expect software to work. You sign in with an email. You buy a ticket. You attend an event. There is no requirement to understand wallets, keys, or blockchain concepts. At the same time, the system still enforces verification, prevents fraud, and controls resale. The blockchain does its job quietly in the background instead of demanding attention. What connected both sides of the discussion was a shared understanding that adoption does not come from teaching people new behaviors. It comes from removing friction. Impart’s longer-term vision is to support creators and businesses with tools that hold up under real use. Mingo is building an access layer that connects people to events and experiences without unnecessary complexity. This is how ecosystems grow without noise. Builders focus on design choices that reduce abuse, protect users, and scale without breaking. Not everything here will succeed. That is normal. But the direction is clear. Less spectacle. More structure. Software that works for people who are not thinking about crypto at all. Hosted by Tate

This is your reminder to play The Dream, 404’s Chroma Award-winning game built using SN17-generated assets. At 404, we aim to help kickstart the next revolution in gaming around AI-native games. That starts with democratising 3D content creation through Bittensor, making it easier for creators to build virtual worlds, games, and AR/VR/XR experiences without needing massive production teams. The long-term vision is to let creators describe the game or world they want to build, then generate the assets, sound, voice, and environment around it. The Dream is an amazing example of that vision. It is a fully playable 3D open-world experience created by a two-person team in just 30 days, using over 12,000 assets generated with 404. The goal is not to replace enterprise game development. It is to create a new layer where individuals and small teams can build and explore high-fidelity game worlds without needing a massive AAA-style pipeline. Sometimes, you need to see it to believe it. Play The Dream yourself at:

.Naval: Marxism, besides denying human incentives, also has a problem where it just assumes that everything is finite and we're all just dividing up the same small set of things. Well, the cavemen didn't have color TVs, computers, cars, antibiotics, or medicine. They were not sitting around dividing up the same few things. The knowledge grows, and we create more. It also tends to assume that we can freeze frame at some point in society and say, 'Well, we have enough different kinds of sneakers, enough different kinds of housing, we just need to allocate it better.' And that is not how anything works. David Deutsch has a great definition of wealth, which he says is the set of physical transformations that we can affect. So, when you think about it that way, you realize that knowledge is not just stored capital in the classic Marxist sense (capital vs. labor), but it's also knowledge on what to do with that capital. The cavemen or Palaeolithic ancestors had access to all the same resources we did. They were living on the same Earth, and by the modern environmentalist arguments, they had a better Earth—they had more to do things with. But yet, they couldn't do anything. They were not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. Why? Because of knowledge. Life is not a zero-sum game, it's a positive-sum game. But we are hardwired to think it's a zero-sum game because, for millions or billions of years, there was no such thing as wealth. There was no such thing as persistent knowledge creation in the environment. What you had was a small amount of resources being divided up, and most of the games were status games—'Which monkey outranks which other monkey?' And that decides which monkey gets to eat first. We played that game for a billion years. Now, we come onto a recent game where, actually, we can all eat, and the big problem is obesity. It's no longer starvation. The big problem is boredom. It's not actually work. There's enough work. So, in this environment, switching your evolved mindset from a zero-sum game to a positive-sum game where we can all win, if we create knowledge together and use the resources that we have to create more resources and more wealth, that's the game we all need to be playing now.

Deadlock is starting to develop one of the most hostile communities toward newcomers, and that honestly worries me a lot. The funny clip I posted of myself dying to a Maroon 5’s Animals blasting Silver when I first started playing ended up going viral on Deadlock Intel’s YouTube and Twitter. Instead of focusing on the joke mod or the Hatsune Miku Bebop skin, people hyper focused on my non existent movement. And they weren’t even giving real advice. They were just being mean about it. Telling me to stick to bot matches to not ruin my friends games and ect. If this keeps up when the game releases, Deadlock is quickly going to earn a reputation similar to League of Legends or Dead by Daylight when it comes to community hostility. I really do not want that, because I genuinely love this game and everything Valve is building. The characters, the gameplay, the lore, it is all incredible. I want people to see Deadlock for that, not for how awful some players can be. The game is still in alpha, and it is very telling that this kind of behavior is already showing up before release. I am fine with trash talk in game. That is part of gaming culture. A lot of games have tried to overly sanitize in game interactions to an almost Orwellian degree with heavy AI moderation. That kind of big brother approach is not really really bad. But there is a big difference between competitive trash talk in a match and people going out of their way to be awful to others outside the game, especially toward new players. That kind of behavior does real damage to a growing community. Deadlock is a Valve game. It is going to live forever. What I want is for it to be known for its depth, creativity, and incredible design, not for eating new players alive before they even get a real chance to enjoy it and learn. This game is fantastic and already a masterpiece to me. I'm new I can get better. I will get better. #deadlock

Put some hard time on the ground with Revolving Games upcoming soon-to-be announced 4X space game they spent $18M building out over the last three years. It’s kind of like Civilization in space, tuned for web3. 4x + Web3 = is a match made in heaven. From what I’ve been playing here with some hours lost with this is that this game is the real deal. Still in development but with lots of potential here. RG may not be shilling their shit on the timeline but they be building good games at max throttle behind the scenes. Adding the full web3 integration to this game is going to help kick web3 gaming into a new gear. I can see the instant appeal of this game, especially with web3 assets at stake. Also tested out their web3 game Hatchlings already and putting in some work tonight with the dev build of Skyborne Flight of the Phoenix casual game. I own > 10 percent of the Nexus Gems NFTs and there is a reason I haven’t sold any even though I’m in significant profit. Finally seeing what they have been building makes me feel all warm and cozy that I held my position. These guys are building kickass games as I see it and I want to be here in on the ground floor of what’s happening. RG is one of the web3 studios in a good position to ride the upcoming web3 gaming wave, if we get one

🌆 Digital Evidence, Real Estate, and the Next Wave of Real-World Adoption Dave Berg, CPO at Constellation, breaks down how they are building real onchain infrastructure that solves real problems. Not hypothetical use cases. Not hype cycles. Actual products people can use right now. 1. Digital Evidence. Authenticity for the internet. Constellation is anchoring digital fingerprints of files, images, documents, and data streams directly onto the network. Why does this matter? Because in a world filled with AI content, fake screenshots, edited PDFs, and manipulated media, proving the origin of information is becoming one of the most valuable capabilities we have. Developers and non developers can use simple APIs, or even vibe code with AI tools like Claude, to anchor and verify data instantly. Everyday users can anchor real-world data right now onto Constellation network with zero blockchain knowledge, using devices they already use every single day. 2. Proof of Management for real assets. This leads into what might be one of the most practical DLT products released in years. Real Estate Ledger. A digital guidebook for any property: • Permits • Warranties • Proof of maintenance • Vendor history • Manuals • Insurance • Improvements • Receipts • Photos Everything tied to the property, all cryptographically timestamped. If you have ever tried to sell a house, maintain one, or prove something to an insurer, you instantly understand how useful this is. Imagine handing a buyer a clean, verified report of every repair, every vendor, every upgrade, and every warranty. Imagine builders uploading materials and documentation during construction so the next owner knows exactly what is behind the walls. Imagine insurance claims based on truth instead of paperwork chaos. This is not a pitch deck about tokenizing real estate one day. This is infrastructure that exists right now. 3. Constellation is solving real adoption problems for Web3. No need to rebuild your business to onboard. No need to run your own nodes unless you want to. No need to become a blockchain expert. Just clean APIs, onchain trust, and applications anyone can understand. Authenticity and truth are scarce assets, Constellation (DAG) is building rails that protect them. "Bet he only does the story and nothing else". Man you look dumb af right now. I guarantee you that I play the game more than you and support the game financially a shit ton, unlike all the F2P that are bitching and moaning. Difference is I'm not a retard and I know that there is no way this game can make more than 8 hours of content every 6 weeks, ESPICIALLY considering 3.0 is right around the corner and they're busting their ass to bring new content, new characters, new setting, the cyberpunk collab, new exploration mechanics, but all you people want to do is bitch about not being able to have 40 hours of content on a mobile gacha title every 6 weeks. These games are not designed to be played the way that you want and they are never goin to. These people would be better off playing MMO's but we all know that the ones bitching cant even afford a monthly subscription for those games let alone by a $70 game and that's why they're mad. I will enjoy the 8 hours of content, do all the story and exploration and events which is probably going to take well over 10 hours if you include the story and then I will happily move on to one of my many other games that I have to play while I wait for them to cook up more content. The people complaining are not real fans of the game or they would understand all this especially with 3.0 around the corner, the collab and Kuro has given us 4 straight patches with amazing content and no filler for story in between any of them.
