The then government in 1995 changed it completely. In 2013, a lot of amendments were made to the act. So, now if an amendment is taking place, it does not need to be taken negatively. Digital infrastructure is now public infrastructure; we just haven’t started treating it that way. When roads or power grids fail, we fix them collectively. When digital systems fail, we hope private companies step in. This is backwards. If the internet is going to be the foundation of global society, the systems beneath it must be: open, verifiable, resistant to unilateral control, and most of all, accountable to the people who rely on them. The Second Age of Polkadot is about designing digital infrastructure that behaves like infrastructure, not a product owned by a handful of companies.

In 2009, while leading the Yuva Rajyam youth wing of Praja Rajyam Party, I participated in the Telangana Samajika Nyaya Sabha alongside Osmania University student leaders and Gaddar Garu. At a time when the Congress government led by the late YSR garu, was opposed to the formation of Telangana, I openly supported the aspirations of the Telangana people and gave a call for a “Samajika Telangana” a Telangana built on the foundations of social justice, self-respect, and equal opportunities for all sections of society. My support for Telangana was never driven by political expediency. It was guided by conviction and a belief that the democratic aspirations of the people deserved recognition and respect. The stand I took then reflects my unwavering commitment to Telangana and its people. My support for Telangana statehood was not a matter of politics, it was a matter of principle. #JaiTelangana #JaiHind

Yesterday, at the Int’l Telecommunication Union Council Meeting, I called on the ITU to take a decisive position on telecoms infrastructure in conflict zones. It is our strong belief that telecoms infrastructure must be considered exempt from military campaigns, as it powers critical civilian infrastructure. In the same vein, actors in conflicts must refrain from weaponising telecoms infrastructure. We must distinguish between civilian and military telecoms infrastructure at all times. The request from the GCC Countries on the unprovoked attacks on their civilian telecoms infrastructure highlights this issue as one demanding a strong stance. 🦁🇬🇭

So you want to know more about Sentech Television Tower in Johannesburg?📻📺 The tower was previously known as the Albert Hertzog Tower (named after the late apartheid minister of posts and telegraphs). It became better well-known as the Brixton Tower. It was built to host TV and radio transmissions. It hosted FM radio transmissions up until 1970. It was one of the first towers in the world to combine 6 FM channels simultaneously into 1 common antenna. In 2001, the name changed from Albert Hertzog Tower to Sentech Tower because naming rights were sold to Sentech. Sentech was one of South Africa’s first wireless service providers. Excavations for the land that the tower was built on started in February 1961. They managed to finish building the tower to its full height of 237m in December of that same year. The steel mast at the very top of the tower only took 3 weeks to complete. The tower is made of concrete and 300 tonnes of reinforced high-tensile, mild steel bars. The tower was designed to withstand winds of up to 200km/h. Yesterday’s increase in Interest rates is not going to do anything to fix the underlying structural imbalances in our economy. It is not going to help build one oil refinery or find a new discovery oil. The reason we have persistent inflation in Australia is because our government is running high immigration, high spending programs alongside chronic underinvestment in infrastructure and manufacturing after decades of privatisation. It is completely absurd that the Australian people are now going to be punished with higher interest rates alongside higher fuel costs. The higher fuel costs is in-itself going to dampen demand by increasing the cost of living so why pour fuel on the fire by increasing the cost of living even more. We are in this mess because of government spending not because Australians are spending too much just to survive. Manipulating interest rates is only dealing with the symptom not the cause. Notwithstanding we can’t solve inflation in the next 30 days, Australia needs to start building more infrastructure and factories and training our children the trades needed to do it. This will increase the supply of essential goods to bring inflation down. People First is the only party with the policies that will do this. We will create an infrastructure bank to fund the infrastructure free from foreign debt and we will bring back the military apprenticeship scheme to train our children how to build and maintain the infrastructure and manufacturing plants.
