Vibe coding can also be pretty fun for robot design. You can experiment with things like servo placement and the overall mechanical layout. here is a hexapod demo with servos.

A test I did to see if models can come up with designs for deep sea research robots

Hexapod simulator I made recently

Next, I want to see how good these models are at designing cute robots like Microduck. So, more demos to come!

Crazy

thanks Venkat

design looks cool, but how to build our own based on this fable simulation???

Like I mentioned, I asked Fable to explore the open-source repos first. Looking at its response, most of the data seems to be coming from these two: So I think a simple prompt asking the model to explore those two repos and bring MicroDuck into a Three.js app should give you a basic simulator. From there, you can ask the model what other features it can add based on the available data. I skipped quite a few things, like individual controls for each servo motor. Also, I don’t think you need Fable for this. Opus 5 or Codex should be able to build the basic simulator too. The aesthetic is just something new I wanted to try, since I like making most of my demos with different visual styles. If you just want a quick simulator, I’d probably go with shadcn/ui.

Looks cool, do you have a packaged skill I can use to build this type of animations or apps? or any process one can follow?

thanks, I don't really use skills that much, here is the kind of workflow I used for this one

That is so cool! Can you share your workflow? such as initial planning prompt etc? fable 5.1 also codes? or coding is made by opus/sonnet/other? Thank you!!

Thanks! For something like this, I usually start with an initial prompt asking the model to do some research, since I’m not always sure what data or resources are available. Then I ask it to suggest a few visual aesthetics that could work for the project and choose one. After that, most of my prompts are just fixing issues and making small improvements. And yes, for this one, everything was done with Fable 5.1. It’s very expensive, though. This isn’t super complicated, and I mainly wanted to test Fable 5.1. I think I could probably get Opus 5 to do something similar too.

Thank you for such a detailed response. Usually, people here reply with just a single sentence lol. Thank you so much. I’m going to try your workflow.

Need GitHub repo link

you can try these steps

Thats cool

thanks

this looks super slick

thanks

That's really cool

I have a very long way to go. How was a repo of basically codes converted into a 3D animated structure?

Let's get the agents to bring the BOM $ down ! I want an army of small soldiers !!

So many nice videos. 0 actual repos, code, or even prompts shared.

Very cool work 👍

For anybody who wants to build their own Microduck simulator, try this. I also think other models could do a good job if you’re worried about the cost of Fable.

mark

this is insanely cool already learning to do the same
