The heat generated would be intense.

Here's the scarier part: BYD provides 18 months of free Flash Charging for its customers.

This is nuts. The Chinese left everyone else so far behind at this point it’s not even funny.

I'm gonna say I think i'm nervous about any battery pack accepting that much power in it's charge cycle. If you know you know. Something is wrong here. It's you physics and thermal dynamics the Chinese are good but breaking governing dynamics they can't do.

Aaaaaand it's on fire...

How is charging a car powered by coal good for the environment?

BYD is a pretty sick company. I have a lot of respect for what they're doing.

24% to 25% takes 5 seconds. So 1% charge = 5 secs. 0 to 100% charge = 500 seconds = 8 minutes 20 seconds, approx

All powered by coal. Especially in the morning and evening. RE

This is so much horseshit it's not even close to believable

Friendly reminder: Use CCP products at your own risk🫰🏻

No way that EV charges this fast!

putting energy that fast into battery cells is a 100% promise that your battery is going to fail after 4 charges or just explode since the heat would melt the welds and cause a short circuit.

How does it affect battery degradation?

They stoped filing around 30%. Guaranteed it slows to a crawl after it reaches 65% - 70% just like all other “fast” charging EV systems.

I wonder how that affects the battery life

Very dangerous to charge that fast. The batteries could overheat and explode. Also the electrical contacts it has to make to charge needs to be very low ohmic resistance. Plus the grid needs to be able to handle the surge especially if many are charged at the same time.

Something doesn't compute here. It shows it going from 10-20% when the power flow is displayed as 100kw, in a few seconds. Doesn't compute, @grok?

Lol… from 10% hell yeah.. but after 25% ?

discharging in chinese cars has the same speed 😂🤣

My concern is that battery powered cars can detonate anytime.

@grok is this true and possible to charge the car this fast?

"bUt iTs pOWerEd bY cOAl!" High IQ individual here. No let's not build the electric cars until every source of electricity everywhere is either nuclear or renewable. The gas car can only be charged by petroleum, the electric can be charged by anything, coal today, clean tom

When will this flash charge be available for phones?

Fine if you can find a 1.5MW power supply.

No thanks… have fun with your Chinese car in 1 year when everything stops working

The guy holding the camera deserves some credit. NOT.

Remember to check your 🔋 health every month lol

Yeah, you'll wonder right now how long they could continue to do that? I mean, I'm sure like everybody else, they do count on fossil fuels as part of their EV package.

This is literally how all superchargers work. When the battery is low you can charge very fast. On a modern charger with a Tesla you can routinely charge at more than 1000 miles added per hour when the battery is low. On all these things it slows down the more full the battery is.

This is great for technology advancement but normal passenger cars dont need this.

Don't worry it will definitely burst into flames, hopefully not with your family in it

It's impossible for Europe to achieve widespread adoption of such a system. The power grid has limited capacity, is unmanaged, and illegal immigrants are of low quality. Could a power grid last for a week without being stolen if it's unattended?
