Before public disclosure, Dan organized multiple vendors to fix the flaw in secret. Many more legendary stories than could fit here, like how he exposed Sony’s rootkit across more than 568,000 networks and identified critical certificate vulnerabilities. Dan followed what he cared about and his curiosity. As Michael Tiffany Michael J.J. Tiffany put it, “Only Dan thought, ‘I could fix the human eye in software.’” He built DanKam, an augmented-reality app that helped colorblind people see color. Michael hosted Dan while he built the first version and described watching a colorblind houseguest sit at the kitchen table, “crying tears of joy seeing red for the first time.” His mother, Trudy Maurer, may have said it best when she accepted his Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 Difference Makers. “Daniel was the catalyst for many achievements across the vast internet spectrum, and I believe Dan truly represented the intersection of technology and humanity.” Mudge, who presented the award, said: “The Lifetime Achievement Award isn’t about what you achieve in your lifetime. I hope everyone is living happily, staying healthy, and feeling safe wherever you are. 📷 So, what’s my topic for today? Recently, I’ve been thinking about something very important — our Global Pioneer GCV Conference. We have a lot of meaningful updates and plans to share. I’m not sure if you’ve been following my recent articles and videos, but today I want to remind you of your homework! What is your homework? It’s simple — share this information. Share this video. Share our promotion messages everywhere, every single day. Why is this so important? Because education builds strength. When pioneers are educated, they can support GCV, they can understand the true value of Pi, and they can value their own lives and build confidence. I always said no matter in Pi Network community or in your daily private life, living or working, you must study so that you understand what you should do and why you should do so that you can have confidence in yourself . That is why you need to promote 3rd Conference because of confidence in Pi Network. Right now, the world faces many problems — economic instability, misinformation, and a lack of trust. But we, as pioneers, have the power to change that by spreading knowledge, truth, and unity. One of the biggest problems today is that many people can’t find a job. Of course, it’s not always because they lack skills — sometimes it’s because of the global economy or their country’s economy. But remember this: If you keep studying, if you are a fast learner, and if you can stay focused, there will always be opportunities waiting for you. And when you do good things, when you help your community, and when you make the right choices, good energy will come to you. In Chinese, we call this “Qi (气)” — it means energy. When you have good Qi, you attract good people, good events, and good opportunities. This is very important, especially now. I know that many people are facing hard times. Around the world, many are unemployed, homeless, or struggling with debt. Even among our 60 million pioneers, many are living in hardship. Some cannot make ends meet, and life feels heavy. So how do we deal with this? I understand — many pioneers feel anxious. They want to get money right away. But this creates a conflict with our mission. Because the Pioneer work is not about short-term gain — it’s about long-term success. Our goal is to build something that lasts, something that gives value and dignity to every pioneer for many years to come. It’s not about the short term. Recently, I’ve been thinking about something very important — our Global Pioneer GCV Conference. We have a lot of meaningful updates and plans to share. I’m not sure if you’ve been following my recent articles and videos, but today I want to remind you of your homework! What is your homework? It’s simple — share this information. Share this video. Share our promotion messages everywhere, every single day. Why is this so important? Because education builds strength. When pioneers are educated, they can support GCV, they can understand the true value of Pi, and they can value their own lives and build confidence. I always said no matter in Pi Network community or in your daily private life, living or working, you must study so that you understand what you should do and why you should do so that you can have confidence in yourself . That is why you need to promote 3rd Conference because of confidence in Pi Network. Right now, the world faces many problems — economic instability, misinformation, and a lack of trust. But we, as pioneers, have the power to change that by spreading knowledge, truth, and unity. One of the biggest problems today is that many people can’t find a job. Of course, it’s not always because they lack skills — sometimes it’s because of the global economy or their country’s economy. But remember this: If you keep studying, if you are a fast learner, and if you can stay focused, there will always be opportunities waiting for you. And when you do good things, when you help your community, and when you make the right choices, good energy will come to you. In Chinese, we call this “Qi (气)” — it means energy. When you have good Qi, you attract good people, good events, and good opportunities. This is very important, especially now. I know that many people are facing hard times. Around the world, many are unemployed, homeless, or struggling with debt. Even among our 60 million pioneers, many are living in hardship. Some cannot make ends meet, and life feels heavy. So how do we deal with this? I understand — many pioneers feel anxious. They want to get money right away. But this creates a conflict with our mission. Video z moja opinia na temat zimy demograficznej w Polsce (Uwaga: sporo błędów w języku polskim) ----------------------------- I recorded this small video in Polish with my opinion on the "demographic winter" in Poland. Translation to 🇬🇧: Numbers don’t lie, but they rarely scare us as much as they should. This year, the fertility rate in Poland will likely drop to 1.1 (according to More Births and Birth Gauge Soon, it could be below one. Some people think: "Great, it’ll be less crowded on the tram, and apartments will be cheaper." The truth is different. These won’t be empty apartments; they will be ghost towns. It will mean taxes that crush the young to support an army of seniors. It means a lack of doctors and services. It is the slow fading of the lights across the entire country. As a Brazilian who has put down roots here, I look at this and don’t understand one thing: why are Poles so afraid of children? I say this from experience: raising a child in Poland is easier than running a limited liability company here. Seriously. When my son cries, 95% of the time the reason is logical: he’s hungry, bored, or has a dirty diaper. If we feed him, play with him, or change his diaper, he’s happy again and smiling. It’s a simple thing. Now imagine an inspector knocks on your company door. Sanepid, Urzad Skarbowy, Inspekcja Handlowa, PINBUD, even STOART were at our place some time ago... They will never tell you directly what they want. They won't be happy if you play with them or change their diapers. And believe me—a baby’s smile brings much more satisfaction than the lack of a fine from a building inspector. In Poland, there is a paralyzing fear that maternity leave means "falling out of the loop"—that the market will forget you. It’s fascinating how much we trust corporations and how little we trust family. Work is a temporary contract. Family is a lifelong achievement. No one on their deathbed regrets not doing more overtime at age 32. People regret that their homes are empty. I also hear the arguments: "I don't want kids because of the war in Ukraine," "climate change," "uncertain times." I understand. But every generation before us had its own "end of the world." The plague, partitions, world wars, and communism. If our grandparents had waited for the "perfect moment," none of us would be sitting here today. Bringing life into the world is the only real act of hope. It’s the only way to ensure there will be anyone in the future to solve these problems. Giving up on children out of pessimism is a self-fulfilling prophecy of failure. But the worst part is what is happening between people. Polish men and women have started to hate each other because of unrealistic expectations from Instagram. You guys and girls are looking for ideals that don't exist. A relationship is not a product you take out of a box, ready-made. It’s a bit like a sport, a bit like a science—you get better at it with every day of training. My wife and I have been training in this sport and learning this science for 12 years, and it’s getting better and more pleasant every day. Some Poles hate each other even over nonsense like politics and politicians (who are just tax collectors). Can you imagine not having a wife or husband, not having a beautiful child, just because your favorite tax collector is different from someone else's favorite tax collector? It is absurd. Have kids.
