C++ Standards Contributor Banned For Using Word "Question" Seriously. C++ ISO Standards Group has permanently banned a long time contributor (w/dozens of papers on C++) because he included the word "question" in the title for a technical document. It's as insane as it sounds.

The expulsion of an expert over a word in their paper title isn't just about language sensitivity; it's a blatant abuse of power. Such decisions not only undermine the core values of technical research, but also set a dangerous precedent where fear of controversy trumps the pursuit of knowledge and dialogue. I hope someone from WG21 will be held accountable for this.

We need to abolish all of these committees, every one of the members need to be outed, publicly mocked, & humiliated, & expunged from all open source projects, for good. Or we need to simply not participate in any of them.

Most C Programmers don't have a clue as to how the CPU works. Here is a lecture from my course on the C Language that introduces how to visualise the CPU as a C (or general software) Programmer.... More Details are at: Being able to model the behaviour of CPU provides a solid base to reason about your code. The summary is - - The CPU is a state machine which maintains it's states in registers. - It has busses to memory for requesting data/instruction read/writes. - Interrupts to attend to events. I discuss this and more in my course on the C Language.

A TV ad for Sanex shower gel has been banned for suggesting that white skin is superior to black skin. Colgate Palmolive, who make Sanex, said they only intended to show a diverse range of users. But, the Advertising Standards Agency said that, as the ad represented black skin as itchy or dry and white skin as smooth, it had included a racial stereotype and was likely to cause serious offence.
