Going digital will mean: • Faster processing vs the 8–10 years earlier censuses took • Lower long-term costs despite the ₹11,718 cr outlay • Better targeting for welfare & representation • Stronger safeguards under DPDP Act, 2023 A census of this scale going digital is not trivial — it’s structural reform.

This is more than a census; it's the creation of the most significant, structured dataset on India's population. The potential for data-driven policymaking and hyperlocal economic analysis is immense. This will be a foundational asset for understanding the real Bharat for the next decade.

Also push for the National Population Register, for which some details were collected previously and later on put in cold storage, because of various reasons. @HMOIndia
