Thank God the referendums failed it was very obvious that the plan was to make care of anyone disabled elderly the responsibility of “the family” but now the government have plenty money to care for anyone who comes here, the Irish though are means tested and medically examined.

State support for the independent living needs of its disabled citizens is not a burden. It’s an investment and we all benefit. In NI every £1 spent by the Independent Living Fund generated a social value of £13. It’s prevention and it’s common sense.

After much thought and consideration, I have decided to vote 'No' on the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill. Firstly, there is a real fear that vulnerable people, including women who have suffered domestic abuse, could be coerced into taking their own lives. Secondly, many disabled people fear that their lives will be devalued and could be pushed to take their lives. Thirdly, the scope of this bill could be widened to include more illnesses and younger ages, as has been the case in other countries. Instead of creating a pathway for people to end their lives, we should be strengthening the palliative care services that help them live their final days with dignity, comfort and support.

Utah Bill to Strip Public Assistance from Undocumented Immigrants, those in the state illegally Passes Committee 7-3 Utah lawmakers are debating House Bill 88, sponsored by Rep. Trevor Lee, a Republican from Layton. This bill would require strict verification of lawful presence in the U.S. before anyone 18 or older can receive most state or locally funded public benefits. It removes many current exceptions, meaning programs like WIC nutrition for women, infants, and children, food assistance, vaccinations, treatment for communicable diseases, housing aid, homeless services, and non-emergency health care could be off-limits to those without legal status. Emergency medical care and short-term disaster relief would still be allowed regardless of immigration status. Bill sponsor Rep. Current Arizona state law only allows voters and those running the election within the 75-foot perimeter of a voting location to ensure safety and security. By running SB1570, Senator Hoffman is acknowledging that federal immigration officers are not allowed to interfere at voting centers or polling places currently. This bill would open the door to voter intimidation, not only of our newest citizens that may have come from violent non-democratic counties, but also every day citizens that have seen tragic videos of other ICE interactions. Every eligible voter must be given the confidence and support to exercise their right to vote freely.

Yesterday, I was overwhelmed by the support I received for my speech in Parliament. Many of you shared it widely, I had not posted it myself. I am now sharing the full speech again so those who missed it can watch how this government is excluding and targeting some of the most marginalised sections of our society. The fight will continue. We will not allow the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community and transgender persons to be diluted, and we will ensure that their dignity, identity, and constitutional protections remain intact. This Bill is a double assault on the transgender community’s dignity and rights: • While every MP in Parliament self declares their gender without scrutiny, transgender citizens are being forced to prove their identity before a medical board and the District Magistrate • From childhood, we are boxed into blue for boys and pink for girls, but identity is deeply personal and constitutionally protected • At a time when the LGBTQIA+ community is still fighting for recognition of same sex marriage, this government is taking us backwards by removing even the right to self identification • No meaningful consultation with the transgender community or stakeholders, despite Supreme Court led processes • The Bill invades privacy, enables discrimination, and opens the door to criminalisation This is not reform, this is regression. Not protection, but policing of identity. As Mahatma Gandhi reminded us, “The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members.”

🚨BREAKING: MY STATEMENT TO PRESIDENT TRUMP BEFORE ZELENSY'S VISIT 1/2 President Trump! Donald J. Trump President Donald J. Trump Thanks to your efforts, Ukraine may enter 2026 with hope for peace. However, hope alone is not enough. Justice in Ukraine must be restored, civilian hostages must be returned home, and the rights of those who refused frontline service due to their convictions must also be restored. Today, there are 30,000 political prisoners in Ukraine, and politically motivated criminal cases exceed 42,000. Additionally, approximately 400,000 men face criminal prosecution by the Ukrainian government for refusing military service—both on grounds of conscience and due to forced mobilization. They are forced to live in hiding, afraid to leave their homes because they risk being kidnapped from the streets and sent to the frontline. Together with their families, this affects around 1.5 million men and women who are either imprisoned or deprived of civil rights, excluded from normal legal life and unable to participate in elections. They must be released from prison and have their rights restored before elections, as they represent the most consistent and determined supporters of peace in Ukraine. As a Member of Parliament, I have registered a bill on national reconciliation that provides for the release of political prisoners and the restoration of non-combatants to normal legal life. I am convinced that this bill should be included among the mandatory conditions Zelensky's government must fulfill for a stable and sustainable peace. On behalf of the 1.5 million Ukrainians whose interests this bill directly represents, I respectfully ask for your support in ensuring its inclusion in the final peace plan for Ukraine. Kentucky doesn’t need to codify federal gun control. Yesterday in Judiciary Committee, legislators heard a bill proposal that would change Kentucky law to adopt a federal firearm restriction. I’m vehemently opposed to gun control at the federal level—why on earth would we want to codify it into a state law here in the Commonwealth?! As a stalwart defender of our Second Amendment Rights, it is my hope that federal firearm restrictions will be repealed by Congress, or at least overturned like the bump stock ban. The last thing we need is more gun control at the state level. Those of us working to repeal existing gun control laws already have our hands full! To get tips done I emptied everything up to money I have saved for my children from the day they were born, cars, land and other properties and was happy that st least her life was preserved. But cancer reoccurred and to our greatest fear in March 2026 we were thrown back into the realm of fear and uncertainty. In April, the hospital after series of tests gave the bill in slide 4. Its 3 months and I am unable to get this bill paid. We already have two: Thom Tillis and Rand Paul. They’re voting against it—one because of the massive budget deficits (that’s Rand Paul), and the other because he’s just telling the truth about the devastating impact this bill would have on Medicaid, on people’s healthcare premiums, and on knocking people off healthcare altogether—especially the impact on rural hospitals. Thom Tillis has been ripping the truth out on the floor about the hypocrisy of this bill. But we need two more. One of them could be Lisa Murkowski. She’s from Alaska, and she was trying to get a lot into this bill that would have exempted Alaska—held it harmless from many of the Medicaid cuts. She tried to put those protections in the bill, but they got bounced out by the parliamentarian as not eligible under the reconciliation process. She also tried to exempt Alaska from the SNAP cuts—from the food stamp cuts—and that, too, got bounced. So the question is: Does she still vote for this bill, even though she knows it’s going to cost Alaskans a lot? It’s going to cost Alaskan hospitals a lot? I just don’t know. That’s someone I know a lot of people are talking to and trying to convince. Another person is Susan Collins. Remember—it was Murkowski, Collins, and John McCain who voted to save the Affordable Care Act in 2017. The impact of this bill is going to affect millions more than losing the ACA would. It’s not just going to threaten rural hospitals, or millions of people who rely on Medicaid—it’s going to jack up premiums for so many Americans. Some folks will just tap out and say, “I can’t afford to pay $900 more for healthcare—I’ll just take the risk.” And that’s going to mean millions of Americans are going to lose their healthcare as a result. So the question is: What do those two do? Now, there are some wildcards. I’ve heard Josh Hawley say very clearly, “We shouldn’t be taking healthcare away from millions of Americans just to give tax cuts to millionaires.” If he holds to that, maybe he’s going to flip on this. But on the inside, there's some real problems with it, and I need your help in raising awareness about that. So when I see a patient who has breast cancer or a risk of breast cancer, there's one thing that I always say to them, and it's so important. It's that the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 guarantees that if their insurance company covers their mastectomy, they have to cover their reconstruction. So as you can imagine, when women hear that, they're so relieved, right? They're like, "Okay, I have to lose my breast, but I'm gonna be able to have reconstruction." That all changes “The number one thing is that previously in the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act, coverage for all breast reconstruction really hinged on one thing, and that was if your insurance covers your mastectomy, they have to cover your reconstruction. When I read this new bill, I looked for that, and what I saw was that they had changed that fundamental thing. They changed that to say now reconstruction hinges on a diagnosis of breast cancer. That may sound similar, but that means that all of our patients with BRCA1 and BRCA2, all of our patients with other high risk for breast cancer, they would not have coverage for breast reconstruction under this new act, and there's no other thing that's providing coverage. So this new amendment would remove coverage for breast reconstruction for all of those patients” The bill limits coverage to those with a formal breast cancer diagnosis (excluding high-risk preventive cases like BRCA1/2 mutations) and tying reimbursements to outdated CPT codes instead of modern ones (like S codes for muscle-sparing reconstructions).
