They showed their true colours when tried to ram thru #CareRef When they tell you who they are, believe them first time. They do not give a damn about #PersonsWithDisabilities. #GraceReport #NursingHome scandal is proof of what they think of us and #FamilyCarers 💔

Tom we all know this Gov are not about to give rights to anyone, they are all about control ...and by god they are killing us. As a carer i'm on the edge everyday, in rental acc and living in fear of a landlord coming and saying i'm selling up... we try to do our best but....

Absolutely devastated, they literally don’t care about the positive impact this would have on us !!! @ @TomClonan

I’m very sorry to hear that Senator. You’ve work so hard on this, and as you say, it would transform the lives of so many. It must be hugely disappointing for you and all involved, but I’ve no doubt you’ll keep fighting! Shame on our cabinet for doing this.

There was a piece on radio 4 recently about how Ireland is drowning in the riches raised from American pharmaceutical and IT companies residing in Ireland. Does anyone ask why this money is not being used for the benefit of Irish citizens? If not why not?

Thank God the referendums failed it was very obvious that the plan was to make care of anyone disabled elderly the responsibility of “the family” but now the government have plenty money to care for anyone who comes here, the Irish though are means tested and medically examined.

State support for the independent living needs of its disabled citizens is not a burden. It’s an investment and we all benefit. In NI every £1 spent by the Independent Living Fund generated a social value of £13. It’s prevention and it’s common sense.

The biggest burden on the exchequer and the electorate is the inept, uncaring, callous cabal That holds the reigns of power. God help us. The most vulnerable lose again.

Well said Tom that lot in government do not care about the Disabled in this country they have no empathy what so ever and they feel they are untouchable after the elections it's an absolute discrace what this country Is becoming it's all about them and nothing else

Surprise surprise. Remind me again of the definition of a *Just Society* Neo-Liberal Agenda, survival of the fittest.
