The statement by Amina Mohammed, the UN Deputy Secretary-General, that she “defends the rights of Afghan women within the framework of Islam” can be dangerous. The United Nations must defend women’s rights unconditionally, not within a framework dictated by the Taliban. If the UN truly stands for the rights of Afghan women, it must do so based on universal human rights, not within a framework that the Taliban may interpret to justify oppression. 🔹 Afghanistan women do not need “limited rights within a specific framework”; they need freedom, equality, and full human rights. 🔹 The international community must make it clear that no justification for the suppression of women is acceptable, even if it is framed in the name of religion. 🌲SimaNoori🌲 Amina J Mohammed #boycottaminajmohammed

Jazz's CEO has publicly come out in support of an unconstitutional bill. This is not merely a matter of the bill's wording or drafting, it is a question of fundamental human rights guaranteed under Articles 23 and 24 of the Constitution of Pakistan. Aamir Hafeez Ibrahim's demands should not be accommodated if they are inconsistent with the Constitution. No individual's or company's preferences can override constitutional protections. Issues such as fiberization and digitization are important and should certainly be addressed, but they must be resolved within the framework of the Constitution and the law, not by curtailing citizens' fundamental rights.
