Cabinet is cooler! 😅 frankly never tried rowboat but it’s mature. The UI looks also completely different, and Cabinet allows you to create your own UI + agents on top. Why not both? :)

What’s your timeline on being able to use an open-ai compatible endpoint? haven’t had the liquidity event yet lol so need to use less expensive models hahaha

Just merged a PR - Cabinet now supports OpenAI codex! 🚀🗄️ You should see on the onboarding the option to choose between claude code / open ai. More providers integration are soon to come.

Did you make this with remotion? any top tips for getting clean results like this?

Yes, remotion + eleven labs (narrator) + sumo (i requested “Apple keynote music” 😅) Use remotion + claude code + skills (inside remotion you can import a lot). I search for copywriting and scripts editing skills on skills..sh but i didn’t use them now. I told claude to load my website + Cabinet code so it will first understand the project vision and messaging. I also asked grok to summarise my style of posts and replies (about Cabinet) so i can get “my tone and style”. But in the end, i wrote the first few sentences +- by myself. It took few hours but i think it looks awesome 🙌🏽 🤩

why files? why not store context in a knowledge graph? versioning and retrieval will be such a pain for large amount of insights

Files because we as humans work with files. Context graph as another layer will come soon, however - cabinet vision is to be you work/life os - see everything visually, with MD files or curated web apps, and have agents do the work.

Cool! Nice work. I tried to create this on my own using only local agents and they always crashed during file system tasks or long thinking… (low hardware I guess) So you think it’s possible to make it reliable to run fully local? With ollama for example.

The "local = safe" assumption is the real trap. Most people don't actually want full control, they want the *feeling* of it. Are you building for the 5% who'll actually run this, or betting that audience grows?

Local = speed, local = no vendor lock. Cabinet is 4 years old and already have a community - we’re building it together.

Local first is definitely the future for AI tools! We've found that having are you planning any editor integrations for Cabinet so agents can read that markdown directly while coding?

Cabinet has integration with claude code codex etc. have you meant something else?
