Make a TikTok video about it and tag Karen Bass. She’ll do a video about it and then show up with a sign “walk signal over here 👈 “ without ever fixing it

my completely uneducated guess: that traffic signal got hit by a car and it was quicker to "fix" the crosswalk button which was necessary due to the high school across the street, than it was to fix the traffic signal

There wasn’t an accident. They also spent over a week installing that pole. They weren’t in a rush.

This should violate the ADA, it’s not safe for people in wheelchairs.

It's an accessibility code thing. It can't be in the slope of the curb ramp and that sidewalk is really narrow. So that space is both sidewalk and the landing for the ramp.

They could have just put it on the existing pole, yet it probably would have been more expensive for some reason.

They need to make these accessible under ADA and often the trafffic signal pole is not, but this seems poorly executed.

My guess is hostile architecture intended to prevent someone putting a sleeping bag there.
