And not ony this, but clearly mark it from the entrance of the lot where to find it. Airport parking is a mess in the US, some have EV chargers but good luck finding it.

The Tesla Model 3/Y produced in the 2017-2024 timeframe all have just an air conditioning vent in the back. But it would be great to turn it into a smart screen that can watch movies, play games and other controls.

Spot on! Future of public charging is not DC, not AC but opportunistic L1 charging everywhere

The European model of bring your own cable makes sense. It reduces the cost to the power provider and reduces damage to cables left on the ground.

I love this. Cheaper than installing EVSE’s for every spot. When folks say outlets won’t work in the US market, the underlying reason that tends to be the case IMO, is we under budget (or don’t budget) for the maintenance of the outlets.

Thing about living in China and seeing all this come in over time if I forget how mind blowing China is. When I went back to the UK & had a BYD Seal for a few days... it was tiresome and & bothersome to charge No one in my family drives an EV & public infrastructure was v.meh

It’s everywhere in HK, that’s why we say swapping is not necessary at all as you can charge anywhere, no wait time at all.

US Hotels will tell you it is a liability issue.

💯agree this is the best solution for apartments, condos, hotels, and office buildings. I have seen a solution that meters each outlet so the user pays for electricity. Let’s move past the excuse of installing chargers is too expensive and then I need to manage and maintain them.

That is perfect, you don’t need level two everywhere, level one works in many cases.

I was plugged into 110v at a hotel and they asked me to unplug. $2.40 a day electricity when charging while staying for 3 weeks at $100 a night. Some businesses are so silly about customer care.

It would be interesting to spec out cost difference between this approach and installing traditional L2 chargers…a la Chargepoint.

Meanwhile my local mall jacked up their ChargePoint to 50 cents/KWh
