let me know what you think of this

Confusing Perspective

Technically, if you're looking at a house that's 50 meters away, say, then it's going to subtend an angle of around 5/50, or about 6 degrees. If you step back 2 meters, it's still going to be 5/52, so there's not much change in the angle it subtends in your field of vision. On the other hand, if a window is a meter across, and you're a meter away, it will subtend an angle of 1/1,or 45 degrees in your field of view. Then if you step back 2 meters it will be 1/3, or around 19 degrees. So when you're close to the window, the house is 6 degrees compared to 45, and when you step back 2 meters it's 6 degrees compared to 19, so it's more than twice as big compared to the window. Then your mind tricks you into thinking the house got bigger when really it's just the aperture you're looking out of got smaller in your field of vision.

magnifying window effect

It’s called having eyes. Objects closer to the viewer move differently as a percentage of their original distance. Adding a few feet increases the % distance away from a close object by 200% and a far object by 1% The close object shrinks faster as a % of original size.
