As a minimum, every politician in this country needs to swear an oath of loyalty to our Constitution including the obligation of enforcement of all its federal laws. Also, any statement made by them to the contrary is grounds for impeachment and immediate suspension of duties and authority while in office .

This is a waste of time. Would campaigning for an amendment to the Constitution be considered not supporting and defending it? It’s one thing to have a social media conversation about it. It’s an entirely different thing to turn it into black letter law in a way that it can’t be weaponized and abused. I agree that it’s a problem, and it sounds like a simple one, but its far from simple. Banning opposition to elements of the Constitution is itself unconstitutional.

Perhaps Cruz has forgotten how he swore an oath to defend the constitution yet he played a very big part in trying to overturn a legal election on Jan 6th. Cruz should have been tried for insurrection and removed from office.
