This idea was so dystopian 50 years ago we made a movie called Soylent Green with a whole scene dedicated to it.

This video is real, but there’s some important context missing. It isn’t a Canadian government MAID advertisement. It’s from Simons’ “All Is Beauty” campaign from 2022, featuring Jennyfer Hatch, who chose MAID. 30- and 60-second TV versions were produced and contemporary advertising coverage said they were intended to air, although Canadian Press recently couldn’t independently verify whether they actually did. People can absolutely debate whether Simons romanticized MAID by producing it — there was significant criticism at the time. But “Canada is advertising assisted suicide” makes it sound like this is a current government campaign. It isn’t. It’s a four-year-old private retailer’s campaign.

Arrest the entire government and prosecute them for crimes against humanity.

And during the process do they remove the organs for paid donation to others thus killing the patient by doing so? Seems like the ultimate inhumane utilitarianism…
