Almost 90% of goods exported to the USA are TARIFF FREE. Whenever I tell Canadian’s this… They have NO IDEA. Now realize Carney’s rhetoric Re: CUSMA is threatening the 90%. They tariffed 10% of the economy and were in recession a year later. Imagine if they tariffed 100%!

People need to look at their property tax bill that just came out too. It’s only been less than six months and for some reason I don’t have any new services in my neighborhood. In fact things have gotten worse but for some reason, my property taxes went up $700. How is that possible?It’s highway robbery and then the liberals want the equity on your house? As a small retailer who relies on Summer tourism, the past two Summers have seen lots of tourist in the shop but no one has any money to spend so I totally understand and agree with what she is saying here about the lack of the Summer boost ☹️

I'd say tariffs were always the easy headline. The deeper drag has been high rates, weak productivity, and per-capita contraction for some time.

2 qtrs of negative GDP is a recession. Full stop! Adding the word “technical” is just political spin. The media uses it to move the goalposts, soften the fallout & trick you into thinking a shrinking economy is just a minor quirk. 2 mths of contraction is not just a technicality!

I think this is why the liberals were flooding Canada with immigration. Adding more people to a country's population generally increases its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The liberals were artificially holding up our GDP.
