John points out that people often confuse the cost of panels with the cost of power. "A solar panel doesn't get you what you want. You want electrons at the location that load is at." But delivering electricity requires land, labor, transmission, and capital, all of which are inflationary.

Kenya must liberalise Power production for Manufacturing and high Tech Industries to grow. Our Country can easily be a hub of Data Centres and take advantage of the current and growing high demand for energy as a result of technology uptake. The entrenched patronage in Power Purchase Agreements and Independence Power Production only benefits the producers and the cost is shouldered by the entire Economy. Part of the cost being political rent. We must rethink Power Production, Manufacturing and Technology. We are African and Africa is our Business..

These are called SMRs. Small modular reactors, smaller, cheaper, and safer than traditional power plants. Instead of fuel rods, they use these fuel pebbles. Cut it in half and you can see the simulated specs of uranium in there. These contain the byproducts. The client for all this is Google. Google's trying to reach its goals of being a net zero company, so they need a lot more clean power now that they're using all this AI stuff. So this company called Kairos Power is gonna build them with luck by 2030, a fleet of small modular reactors for clean, safe nuclear power forever.”
