Love Scarface, but think it has more cultural than artistic resonance, on balance. Super cool movie, but just not as artistic in sensibility as my favorites. So, too, the UTs—feels to me just a bit too intentionally directed to be a blockbuster via multi major movie star casting and very crude/basic black hat vs. white hat tropes—feels very old-fashioned in a way not typically De Palmenan (but: incredible set-pieces; and, that Morricone score!). He has a truly amzing filmography, that is for sure. We have not even touched on numerous other films that would be considered the very finest of many famous and well-revered directors.

Yep, not to mention Casualties of War, one of the most underrated war films ever made!

Oh, Hell yeah. Damn, what a movIe.
